World Gripped By Anti-Government Riots; America Next?
Global unrest causing spiraling food prices as regimes are toppled

The planet is in a never-ending cycle of anti-government revolt as riots that plagued Europe last year now spread like wildfire through the Middle East and beyond, threatening to accelerate bloody clashes and force the hand of authorities as the risk of a new Tiananmen Square-style massacre grows ever likelier. Is America next in line to experience unrest that has touched almost every corner of the globe?
Our prediction three years ago, based on UN documents, which was made six months before the collapse of Lehman brothers, that the world would be hit by massive food riots and anti-government unrest in the aftermath of an economic collapse, is now unfolding at an astonishing pace.
The latest countries to be enveloped by the chaos are Tunisia, Egypt, and now Yemen, whose population are demanding the ouster of 30-year President Ali Abdullah Saleh in a protest against poverty and lack of political freedom. Read More

A celebrity journalist now claims he misspoke when he said last week that Hawaii’s governor told him he was unable to find President Barack Obama’s original birth certificate after a search of state and hospital archives.
Mike Evans told FoxNews.com on Wednesday he was remorseful and embarrassed that he appeared to have given the impression that he had discussed the search for Obama’s birth certificate with Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie. Read More

2011 Budget Deficit to Hit Record $1.5 Trillion
CBO Predicts: 2011 Budget Deficit to Hit Record $1.5 Trillion
Posted on January 26, 2011
Washington (AP) — New budget estimates released Wednesday predict the government’s deficit will hit almost $1.5 trillion this year, a new record.
The daunting numbers mean that the government will have to borrow 40 cents for every dollar it spends.
The new Congressional Budget Office estimates will add fuel to a raging debate over cutting spending and looming legislation that’s required to allow the government to borrow more money as the national debt nears the $14.3 trillion cap set by law. Republicans controlling the House say there‘s no way they’ll raise the limit without significant cuts in spending, starting with a government funding bill that will advance next month.
The CBO analysis predicts the economy will grow by 3.1 percent this year, but that joblessness will remain above 9 percent this year. Dauntingly for President Obama, the nonpartisan agency estimates a nationwide unemployment rate of 8.2 percent on Election Day in 2012. Read More

Levin: Obama is still the one he’s been waiting for
Levin writes this morning his insightful analysis of Obama and his SOTU speech. Bottom line is that Obama hasn’t changed one bit even though the political world is talking as though he has:
"President Obama’s foot remains where it has been since the day he entered the Oval Office, on the gas pedal. He’s not braking for anyone or anything. All this pre-SOTU spin from Obama’s whisperers, gobbled up by the Obama-hungry media, was always nonsense. Obama has no intention of touching entitlements in any significant way, period. Why would he tamper with the New Deal and Great Society when he considers them a good start but insufficiently bold to advance his statist beliefs? Obama has no intention of honestly working with Republicans on health care, cap-and-trade, etc. These are hallmarks of his transformative agenda. They define him and his presidency. His bureaucracy is working overtime to institute them."

What Obama Will Not Say at the SOTU
January 25, 2011
By John Fricke
The annual take-a-stab guessing game of what any president will say at the State of the Union address is now on. If I might, I would like to play the other side of that card. Here is what President Obama will not say in his SOTU speech.
-- That he has heard the American people clearly. That he understands the concerns about government-run health care. That he knows now that liberals forcing a government takeover of the health care system threatens serious economic problems and worse threatens individual liberties.
-- That forcibly making individuals buy a product is un-American. That all Americans do have access to health care; it's just that some cannot afford health insurance.
-- That our national debt is, in fact, a crisis and a national security issue.
-- That printing money and spending it lavishly on Democratic political interests and even on himself through parties, vacations, and golf was wrong.
-- That his party's polities overseeing Fannie and Freddie were, in fact, the core problem in the housing crisis. That government-ordered housing for all is a massive failure.
-- That government takeovers of private companies are problematic, to the tune of socialistic. Read More

Obama...The Candy Man...Takes Center Stage
The Candy Man Takes Center Stage at State of Disunion Speech
Monday, 24 January 2011 JB Williams
Remember that old pop standard The Candy Man, by Sammy Davis Jr.? “Who can take a sunrise, sprinkle it with dew Cover it with choc'late and a miracle or two - The Candy Man, oh the Candy Man can…”
I had completely forgotten about this song until Obama entered the political arena. Every time I hear him speak, or hear any of his sycophants speak about him, I can hear this old pop standard ringing in my head like a broken record.
Never in history has our nation been more divided, more on the brink of utter disaster, or more angry about it all. But tomorrow night, the Candy Man will take center stage at what can only be described as a state of disunion speech.
Who can take a rainbow, wrap it in a sigh
Soak it in the sun and make a groovy lemon pie
The Candy Man, the Candy Man can
The Candy Man can 'cause he mixes it with love and makes the world taste good
That great and wonderful Oz behind Obama’s teleprompter has undoubtedly worked feverishly to find the right words for the puppet-in-chief to settle the frayed nerves of congress and voters alike, despite the reality that the state of our union has never been worse.

How to Stop a Runaway Federal Government
Henry Lamb
1/24/2011
For the benefit of the Department of Homeland Security, Southern Poverty Law Center, MSNBC, all Progressives, Socialists, and outright Communists — this article is not about anti-government organizations. It is about organizations filled with members who love the United States of America and are sick and tired of watching its leaders ignore the Constitution, trample individual freedom, and impose near-despotic rule.
The emergence of Tea Party and 912 groups across the country are just the first bubbles in a pot that has begun to boil. Thousands of groups have formed and are now monitoring local governments, conducting regular education sessions for their members, locating, grooming, and funding candidates, and preparing to rid the nation’s leadership of all officials who display anti-Constitution tendencies. "The reckoning is coming. It will be swift, and it will be terrible, and we will have only ourselves to blame."

Here comes a reckoning we won’t soon forget
If you’re one of the lucky ones in these economically depressed times, you have a job that comes with a steady paycheck. (Nine percent of Americans or more have not been so lucky for twenty straight months.)
But even for the fortunate gainfully employed among us, the economic situation is more dire than many are remotely aware.
Take your yearly pay. Subtract your local, state, and federal tax burdens. Then deduct the amount you are paying to service your personal debt, including mortgages, credit cards, business or student loans, etc.
For a lot of Americans, after such a cruel calculus, their yearly income looks a lot smaller — perhaps barely adequate — even if one is pulling down a nominally “good” salary.
But the situation is even more alarming still: for the first time, our national debt has surpassed $14 trillion — a dubious and shameful record.
Even more astonishing, the past two presidents, one from each major political party, are responsible for half of that monstrous sum. As an Associated Press story noted, about half of today’s national debt was run up in the past six years. It soared from $7.6 trillion in January 2005 as President George W. Bush began his second term to $10.6 trillion the day President Obama was inaugurated and to $14.02 trillion now.
In this era of hyper-partisanship, it is comforting to know that there is one thing both parties have agreed upon — spending the nation into insolvency. Read More

Friend says Abercrombie told him, 'There is no birth certificate!'
"In the Obama rabbit hole, things do seem to get progressively curiouser and curiouser."
January 24, 2011
Jack Cashill
During an interview on the KQRS morning radio show on January 20, Mike Evans, a long-time friend of Hawaii governor Neil Abercrombie, shared a conversation he had with the governor the day prior. The reader is advised to judge for himself the credibility of Evans' account, but he sounds convincing.
Evans, Honolulu born and now a Hollywood-based celebrity journalist, claimed that Abercrombie had promised him that he when he became governor, he planned to find absolute proof that Obama was born in Hawaii.
When Evans spoke to Abercrombie on January 19, Abercrombie reportedly told him that he searched the relevant Hawaii hospitals using his powers as governor, and concluded, according to Evans, "There is no Barack Obama birth certificate in Hawaii, absolutely no proof at all that Obama was born in Hawaii." After Abercrombie made such a fuss about finding the birth certificate, Evans concluded of his friend that he has "got some egg in the face." Read More

Hawaii governor figures out that he’s barred by law from revealing Obama’s birth certificate

"Three theories. One: The Birthers are right and it’s all a big cover-up, and somehow someone in the White House forgot to mention to the incoming Democratic governor of Hawaii, who, by the way, has known Obama since he was an infant, “Pssst — don’t mention the birth certificate.” Seems … unlikely. Two: Abercrombie secretly hates Obama for whatever reason and concocted this whole scheme in order to make the birth certificate thing seem even more suspicious. He co-opted the conspiracy theory to serve his own ends! Crafty. But there’s … no evidence. Three: The guy’s a total moron. At this point, highly likely and plenty of evidence. That’s the one I’m going with, although I’m open to persuasion." Read More

House Republicans Already Investigating Obamacare Waiver System
Posted by Jim Hoft on Sunday, January 23, 2011
The House Energy and Commerce Committee on Thursday asked the Department of Health and Human Services to provide detailed information on the over 200 groups requesting and receiving one-year waivers from Obamacare.
In November it was first reported that the Obama Administration had handed out 111 (now over 200) Obamacare waivers to special US companies… And, they hid this information from the American public. It took 6 clicks to find out this information on the government’s health care website.
Unfortunately, if you’re a small business or you don’t have the right connections you can’t get a waiver for your company from Team Obama. The bottom line is that democrats did not create a law that benefits all of us.
House Republicans are going to investigate these Obamacare waivers.

Allegory of the Cave of the Mama Grizzly
January 23, 2011
By Clarice Feldman
It was my online friend narciso, the pen name of a brilliant commenter on the day's events, who first summed up this week's folderol over Sarah Palin. "One is struck," he noted, " by how much Plato's 'Tale of the Cave' seems to fit this paradigm ... Those that only follow the networks, or the Times or USA Today, even, are always 'unexpectedly surprised,' when reality doesn't match the paradigm they've assimilated by osmosis."
There was a lot of sage stuff online trying to explain what happened and why to Sarah Palin this week, and although I'll mention some of the best analysis I found, my own belief is that the vicious treatment of her stems as much as anything from the discordant feelings she inspires as she takes media prisoners out of their mental cave and into the bright sun and exposes the puppeteers as fools and knaves.
