The spark that ignited a revolution in the Arab world: Revolutions are explosions of frustration and rage that build over time, sometimes over decades. Although their political roots are deep, it is often a single spark that ignites them — an assassination, perhaps, or one selfless act of defiance.

SIDI BOUZID, TUNISIA — On the evening before Mohammed Bouazizi lit a fire that would black burn across the Arab world, the young fruit vendor told his mother that the oranges, dates and apples he had to sell were the best he’d ever seen. “With this fruit,” he said, “I can buy some gifts for you. Tomorrow will be a good day."
For years, Bouazizi had told his mother stories of corruption at the fruit market, where vendors gathered under a cluster of ficus trees on the main street of this scruffy town, not far from Tunisia’s Mediterranean beaches. Arrogant police officers treated the market as their personal picnic grounds, taking bagfuls of fruit without so much as a nod toward payment. The cops took visible pleasure in subjecting the vendors to one indignity after another — fining them, confiscating their scales, even ordering them to carry their stolen fruit to the cops’ cars.
Before dawn on Friday, Dec. 17, as Bouazizi pulled his cart along the narrow, rutted stone road toward the market, two police officers blocked his path and tried to take his fruit. Bouazizi’s uncle rushed to help his 26-year-old nephew, persuading the officers to let the rugged-looking young man complete his one-mile trek.
The uncle visited the chief of police and asked him for help. The chief called in a policewoman who had stopped Bouazizi, Fedya Hamdi, and told her to let the boy work.
Hamdi, outraged by the appeal to her boss, returned to the market. She took a basket of Bouazizi’s apples and put it in her car. Then she started loading a second basket. This time, according to Alladin Badri, who worked the next cart over, Bouazizi tried to block the officer. Read More

Al-Qaeda Joins Libyan Rebels Ranks
Let’s Arm Them!… 1,000 Jihadist Extremists Join Libyan Rebel Movement
March 30, 2011
Gateway Pundit
By Jim Hoft
Yesterday NATO Supreme Allied Commander in Europe ADM James Stavridis told a committee that there were “flickers” of Al-Qaeda in the Libyan rebels ranks.
So 1,000 jihadists is a “flicker”?
Today a “former” Al-Qaeda member told reporters that he believes there are 1,000 jihadists who have joined the Libyan rebel movement. This is the same day that Hillary Clinton suggested that we arm the rebels.
The Washington Times reported:
A former leader of Libya’s al Qaeda affiliate says he thinks “freelance jihadists” have joined the rebel forces, as NATO’s commander told Congress on Tuesday that intelligence indicates some al Qaeda and Hezbollah terrorists are fighting Col. Moammar Gadhafi’s forces.
Former jihadist Noman Benotman, who renounced his al Qaeda affiliation in 2000, said in an interview that he estimates 1,000 jihadists are in Libya.
On Capitol Hill, Adm. James Stavridis, the NATO commander, when asked about the presence of al Qaeda terrorists among the rebels, said the leadership of the opposition is made up of “responsible men and women.”
“We have seen flickers in the intelligence of potential al Qaeda, Hezbollah,” the four-star admiral said. “We’ve seen different things. But at this point, I don’t have detail sufficient to say that there’s a significant al Qaeda presence, or any other terrorist presence, in and among these folks.”
The military is continuing to “look at that very closely,” he said, because “it’s part of doing due diligence as we move forward on any kind of relationship” with the opposition.
Outside observers generally estimate the number of trained Libyan fighters to be about 1,000.

The Federal Reserve system is a debt-based financial system Ponzi Scheme
19 Reasons Why The Federal Reserve Is At The Heart Of Our Economic Problems
March 30, 2011
The Economic Collapse
Most Americans do not understand what the Federal Reserve is or why it is at the heart of our economic problems. When Americans get into discussions about the economy, most of them still blame either the Democrats or the Republicans for inflation, for the housing crash, for our rampant unemployment and for the national debt. But the truth is that the institution with the most power over our economic system is the Federal Reserve. So exactly what is the Federal Reserve? Most people would say that it is an agency of the federal government. But that is absolutely not true. In fact, the Federal Reserve itself has argued in court that it is not an agency of the federal government. Rather, the Federal Reserve is a privately-owned banking cartel that has been given a perpetual monopoly over our monetary system by the U.S. Congress. This privately-owned central bank has been destroying the value of the U.S. dollar for decades, it has run our economy into the ground and it has driven the U.S. government to the brink of bankruptcy. The Federal Reserve operates in great secrecy, it has never been subjected to a comprehensive audit and it is not accountable to the American people. Yet the decisions that the Federal Reserve makes have a dramatic impact on the lives of every single American citizen.
If you really want to understand what is causing our economic problems, it is absolutely crucial that you understand exactly what the Federal Reserve system is and how it is systematically destroying our economy. Once you understand the truth about the Federal Reserve, you will view economic issues a whole lot differently. Read More

Hillary's War
"Oh, what noxious weeds has Hillary Clinton sown!"
March 29, 2011
By Victor Sharpe
Let us first look back to the bombing of Serbia by President Clinton and who was most instrumental in encouraging him.
According to Dean Murphy in the New York Times of October 2000,
"Hillary Clinton called for the US to reject isolationism and aggressively engage itself in world affairs in the tradition of President Truman at the end of WWII.
"She cited American involvement in Bosnia and Kosovo as examples of foreign engagements she favored on moral and strategic grounds, but also suggested that Americans needed to consider becoming involved in solving crises that are not only military in nature."
In other words Hillary urged Bill to launch the first "human rights war" in Bosnia and Kosovo. But in doing so she laid the foundation for an Islamic beachhead in territory previously fought over for centuries by Christian Serbs who were resisting Muslim invasion and conquest.
Again, according to Gail Sheehy writing on December 9, 1999 in Hillary's Choice, page 345: On March 21, 1999, Hillary expressed her views by phone to the President:
"I urged him to bomb. The Clintons argued the issue over the next few days. The President expressed what-ifs: What if bombing promoted more executions? What if it took apart the NATO alliance?
"Hillary responded, "You cannot let this go on at the end of a century that has seen the major holocaust of our time. What do we have NATO for if not to defend our way of life?"
The next day the President declared that force was necessary. Thus it was Hillary Clinton who urged her husband to bomb Serbia. And it was done, predominately, with the use of U.S. aircraft wearing NATO insignia and bombing from thousands of feet. Inevitably such indiscriminate force led to the destruction of bridges in Belgrade with untold numbers of Serbian civilians killed. Some humanitarian war!
The same thread appeared in June 1999 when Hillary spoke at the Sorbonne in Paris. She again defended the bombing of Serbia by claiming that:
"We will not turn away when human beings are cruelly expelled or when they are denied basic rights and dignities because of how they look or how they worship. When crimes against humanity rear their ugly heads, we have to send such a message as an international community."
She was referring to the Muslim victims of the war but she lost sight both of the Serbian victims who had died at the hands of Muslims she was defending or who themselves had been expelled from their lands by Muslim aggressors. She misread the strategic and humanitarian disaster to the West that increasingly jihadist Muslim states in the Balkans were bound to create. It was not America's finest hour.
Now Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, is doing the very same in Libya that she set in motion in Bosnia and Kosovo. Like the pressure she brought to bear on President Clinton, Hillary has repeated it with President Obama. Read More

‘The Coming is Near’: New Eerie Iran Propaganda Vid Trumpets Imminent Return of 12th Imam
March 29, 2011
The Blaze
By Jonathon M. Seidl
“New evidence has emerged that the Iranian government sees the current unrest in the Middle East as a signal that the Mahdi–or Islamic messiah–is about to appear.”
So begins an ominous report by CBN’s Erick Stakelbeck detailing a propaganda video reportedly “approved at the highest levels of the Iranian government.“ That video explains ”all the signs are moving into place — and that Iran will soon help usher in the end times.”
Regular Beck viewers may know the Mahdi by another name, the twelfth imam — a term not lost to Stakelbeck, who writes thattThe new video “describes current events in the Middle East as a prelude to the arrival of the mythical twelfth Imam or Mahdi — the messiah figure who Islamic scriptures say will lead the armies of Islam to victory over all non-Muslims in the last days.”
Stakelbeck reports, and includes excerpts from the video called “The Coming is Near:”

Libyan Rebels Have Already Established A New Central Bank Of Libya
"Who knew that the rag tag group of rebels in Libya were also masters of banking and international trade?"
March 29, 2011
The Economic Collaspe
The rebels in Libya are in the middle of a life or death civil war and Moammar Gadhafi is still in power and yet somehow the Libyan rebels have had enough time to establish a new Central Bank of Libya and form a new national oil company. Perhaps when this conflict is over those rebels can become time management consultants. They sure do get a lot done. What a skilled bunch of rebels - they can fight a war during the day and draw up a new central bank and a new national oil company at night without any outside help whatsoever. If only the rest of us were so versatile! But isn't forming a central bank something that could be done after the civil war is over? According to Bloomberg, the Transitional National Council has "designated the Central Bank of Benghazi as a monetary authority competent in monetary policies in Libya and the appointment of a governor to the Central Bank of Libya, with a temporary headquarters in Benghazi." Apparently someone felt that it was very important to get pesky matters such as control of the banks and control of the money supply out of the way even before a new government is formed. Read More

AP Fact Check Shreds Obama’s Libya Speech…
March 29, 2011
WASHINGTON (AP) — There may be less than meets the eye to President Barack Obama’s statements Monday night that NATO is taking over from the U.S. in Libya and that U.S. action is limited to defending people under attack there by Moammar Gadhafi’s forces.
In transferring command and control to NATO, the U.S. is turning the reins over to an organization dominated by the U.S., both militarily and politically. In essence, the U.S. runs the show that is taking over running the show.
And the rapid advance of rebels in recent days strongly suggests they are not merely benefiting from military aid in a defensive crouch, but rather using the multinational force in some fashion — coordinated or not — to advance an offensive.
Here is a look at some of Obama’s assertions in his address to the nation Monday, and how they compare with the facts: Read More

"EPA to Help Mainstream Media Obscure The Truth About Radiation Exposure to Americans"
March 29, 2011
Brandon Turbeville
Activist Post
As Americans focus on March Madness and Dancing With the Stars instead of the radioactive plume spreading all across the country, the US EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) is attempting to make the mainstream media cover up of the Fukushima cloud a bit easier.
The agency now notorious for its infamous claim that the air was safe to breathe after 9/11 is now seeking to raise the PAGs (Protective Action Guides) to levels vastly higher than those at which they are currently set allowing for more radioactive contamination of the environment and the general public in the event of a radioactive disaster.
PAGs are policies established by the EPA that guide the agency in enforcing the various environmental laws such as the Clean Air and Water Act in the invent of a radioactive emergency such as a nuclear/dirty bomb or factory meltdown like that occurring in Japan. Read More

Radiation now being found all over the place
"Fukushima radiation plumes have now struck the Carolinas and Florida, say reports"
March 29, 2011
By Jonathan Benson
(NaturalNews) Several nuclear power plants in the southeastern US have begun to detect low levels of radioactive iodine-131 in the air, which is the same type of radiation now being found all over the place as a result of the mega-earthquake and tsunami that struck the Fukushima Daiichi power plant in Japan on March 11, 2011. Reuters has indicated that power plants in both North and South Carolina, as well as one in Florida, have all detected what they say are "low levels" of the non-native radioactive substance.
"If there were radiation coming from one our own sites, we would be seeing other types of radiation than iodine-131," said Drew Elliot, a spokesman for Progress Energy. "Other nuclear stations throughout the East Coast all started picking this up within the last week. It all points to something coming from overseas. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) both say it poses no threat to public safety."
Progress Energy's Hartsville, SC, plant and Crystal River, Fla., plant both detected what the company says are low levels of radioactive iodine-131. And Duke Energy's two plants in South Carolina, as well as its plant in Huntersville, NC, all reported levels of the non-native radioactive substance as well. Read More

President Obama's Biggest Fear
March 29, 2011
From: "The Blaze"
Please find below a special message from our friends at Stansberry & Associates.
Dear Subscriber,
What is President Obama's biggest fear?
Well...one wealthy investor thinks he knows what Obama's biggest fear should be.
You see, this guy says our country is now facing a once-in-a-lifetime event, which will take place within the next year...and will change our country forever.
He says it will be bigger than 9/11...bigger than the war in Afghanistan...and more life-altering than anything we've experienced in the past 50 years.
You can watch his full video presentation here, it comes complete with drawings of this looming event.
Sincerely,

Clinton & Gates Suggest Constitution No Longer Supreme
"We have a sitting president who does not believe in national sovereignty. Such a president cannot possibly fulfill his oath of office, since he does not regard the Constitution as the supreme law of the land."
March 28 2011
By Walter Hudson
Recall how confused many of us were by the Obama candidacy? Remember how we laughed at “community organizing,” “hope,” and “change?” Do you recall the promise of “fundamental transformation,” and how few of us understood what it really meant?
If we learned anything from the Obama candidacy, it’s that we ought to be on our highest guard when this president is at his most perplexing. It is a mistake to dismiss what seems nonsensical and assume there is no method to the madness.
Since American military action began against Libya, confusion has reigned among policymakers and pundits. Some have pointed out the glaring inconsistency between President Obama’s past comments and his current actions, while others stretch the limits of credulity in an attempt to reconcile the disparity.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton added to the cacophony on Sunday. She appeared alongside Secretary of Defense Robert Gates on ABC’s This Week. In response to questioning by Senior White House Correspondent Jake Tapper, Clinton provided some insight into the administration’s mindset. It suggests that, while the rest of us may be confused, this administration may not be. Read More

Communism-Loving George Soros Wants To Kill Capitalism

At first radical philanthropist George Soros decided he wanted to destroy America’s capitalist system and replace it with a command economy. He hasn’t even been beating around the bush about his twisted dream — and the mainstream media has no intention of calling him out for his treachery. This immigrant ingrate who miraculously survived the totalitarianism of Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union has a screw loose. Soros puts his money where his mouth is, even lending moral support to left-wing terrorist attacks against the United States.

“The system we have now has actually broken down, only we haven’t quite recognized it and so you need to create a new one and this is the time to do it,” Soros told the Financial Times. In an interview with Der Spiegel Soros said European-style socialism “is exactly what we need now. I am against market fundamentalism. I think this propaganda that government involvement is always bad has been very successful — but also very harmful to our society.” Read More

Radiation detected in Massachusetts rainwater as Fukushima crisis worsens
The nuclear power industry turns out to be just as corrupt as Big Pharma
March 28, 2011
By Mike Adams
The Fukushima crisis continues to worsen by the day, with nuclear experts around the world finally realizing and admitting we've all been lied to. "I think maybe the situation is much more serious than we were led to believe," said Najmedin Meshkati of the University of Southern California, in a Reuters report (http://www.reuters.com/article/2011...). That same article revealed that recent radiation readings at Fukushima show "contamination 100,000 times normal in water at reactor No. 2 and 1,850 times normal in the nearby sea."
Massachusetts rainwater has also been found to be contaminated with low levels of radiation from Fukushima, indicating just how widespread the radioactive fallout has become. It's not just the West Coast of North America that's vulnerable, in other words: even the East Coast could receive dangerous levels of fallout if Fukushima suffers a larger release of radioactive material into the air.
Rolling blackouts are now continuing throughout Japan due to the drop in power production from Fukushima diminishing Japan's electricity generating capacity (http://english.kyodonews.jp/news/20...). The only reason Japan isn't experiencing widespread power blackouts right now is because so many factories were damaged or swept away from the tsunami itself. Once a serious rebuilding effort gets underway, Japan is going to find itself critically short of electrical power. Read More
