Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County, Arizona has shown himself to be a vigilant fighter against illegal immigration and border crime. And two weeks ago, he launched his own air campaign against illegal immigrants and drug criminals, The New York Times reports.
Sheriff Joe has formed what he calls his own air force — 30 private planes that scope out illegal immigrants and drug smugglers. His name for the effort: Operation Desert Sky. Private pilots already have started flying over central Arizona on reconnaissance missions for Sheriff Joe’s deputies.
The air defense hasn’t sparked any arrests yet, but Sheriff Joe says it will act as a deterrent. “The president may have a no-fly zone over Libya, but there will never be a no-fly zone over my area,” Sheriff Joe told The Times. “That’s a good line, isn’t it?”
Radiation levels have risen dramatically in seawater near the stricken Fukushima
"Radiation levels in seawater at crippled Fukushima plant jump 6,500 times above legal limit ahead of new 5.9 earthquake"
April 17, 2011
UK Daily Mail
Radiation levels have risen dramatically in seawater near the stricken Fukushima nuclear plant in Japan, sparking fears of a new leak, according to the country’s government.
The announcement came ahead of a fresh 5.9-magnitude earthquake that hit the Kanto region, in the eastern part of the country on Saturday morning.
Ironically the new quake hit hours after the country’s nuclear safety agency ordered plant operators to beef up their quake alert systems to prevent a recurrence of the previous nuclear crisis.
There were no reports of damage from the earthquake, and there was no risk of a tsunami similar to the one that struck the Fukushima Dai-ichi plant.
Since the earthquake and tsunami of March 11 knocked out the nuclear plant’s cooling systems, workers have been spraying massive amounts of water on the overheated reactors. Read More

Globalist War Machine Fixates on Syria
Syria told to yield to “peaceful” arsonists or suffer Libya’s fate.
April 17, 2011
By Tony Cartalucci
With the war in Libya set only to expand, the precedent of attacking a sovereign nation based on unverified reports, to then assist foreign funded, armed insurrection is already being used to lay the groundwork for a similar campaign against Syria. The “Libyan Precedent” was already an articulated doctrine within the corporate-financier think-tanks long before Joe Lieberman and Nicolas Sarkozy began parroting it in speeches and interviews.
In a February 26, 2011 Brookings Institute report titled, “Libya’s Test of the New International Order,” the intervention in Libya was described as “a test that the international community has to pass.” Failure would “shake further the faith of the people’s region in the emerging international order and the primacy of international law.” Succeeding, the report would go on to say, would “demonstrably draw a line in the sand to deter other Arab autocrats who resort to attacking their people rather than dialogue and genuine reforms.” Of course by reforms, Brookings means integration into the “international system” its corporate-financier sponsorship lords over.
In late March after bombing began in Libya, Sarkozy of France would echo Brookings’ sentiments stating, “Every ruler should understand, and especially every Arab ruler should understand that the reaction of the international community and of Europe will from this moment on each time be the same: we will be on the side of peaceful protesters who must not be repressed with violence.” He would go on to say there is a “new post-UNSC 1973 model of “world governance.”" Read More

A Golden Tipping Point: University of Texas Takes Delivery Of $1 Billion In Physical Gold
Black Swan..."Years from now, when historians attempt to define who may have started it all, one name may emerge"
April 17, 2011
By Tyler Durden
Tipping points are funny: for years, decades, even centuries, the conditions for an event to occur may be ripe yet nothing happens. Then, in an instant, a shift occurs, whether its is due a change in conventional wisdom, due to an exogenous event or due to something completely inexplicable. That event, colloquially called a black swan in recent years, changes the prevalent perception of reality in a moment. This past week, we were seeing the effect of a tipping point in process, with gold prices rising to new all time highs day after day, and the price of silver literally moving in a parabolic fashion. What was missing was the cause. We now know what it is: per Bloomberg: “The University of Texas Investment Management Co., the second-largest U.S. academic endowment, took delivery of almost $1 billion in gold bullion and is storing the bars in a New York vault, according to the fund’s board.” And so, the game theory of a nearly 100 year old system of monetary exchange has seen its first defector, but most certainly not last. With an entity as large as the University of Texas calling the bluff of the Comex, the Chairman, and fiat in general in roughly that order, virtually every other asset manager is now sure to follow, considering there is not nearly enough physical gold to satisfy all paper gold in existence by a factor of about 100x. The proverbial Nash equilibrium has just been broken. Read More

Just as the malefactors running the federal government live on borrowed money, we are living on borrowed time. Even if we immediately put them in prison where they belong, the total collapse of our economy and our way of life under the weight of this debt is probably inevitable. With every day we allow them to rule us it grows more certain.

Hezbollah Leader Nasrallah Defends Ties to Syria & Iran – Tells Guerillas to Be Prepared to Invade Israel
April 16, 2011
By Jim Hoft
Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah also defended the Lebanese terror group’s close ties with Iran and Syria this week. (Press TV)
Hezbollah leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah told his guerilla group on Wednesday to be prepared to invade Israel.
CNS News reported:
Hezbollah’s leader told his Shiite guerrilla group Wednesday to be prepared to invade northern Israel, a day after Israel’s defense minister warned that the quiet along the tense border could erupt into violence.
The comments by the two sides illustrate the fragile situation along the frontier since they Israel and Hezbollah fought a bitter, six-week war in the summer of 2006. The war ended in a U.N.-brokered truce but officials on both sides of the border believe it is only a matter of time before hostilities resume.
“I tell the holy warriors of the Islamic Resistance to be ready for a day when, if war is imposed on us, your command might ask you to control the Galilee area,” Hezbollah leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah said in a televised speech Wednesday. The Galilee refers to land in northern Israel.
On Tuesday, Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak toured the Israeli military’s northern command and told soldiers there that the quiet along the frontier might not last.
Just last month it was reported that several members of the Obama Administration are ready to endorse dialogue with the Hezbollah terror group.
Senator Grassley Has Damning Documents on Obama’s Stimulus-Funded Gunrunner Project
"Senator Grassley Has Damning Documents on Obama’s Stimulus-Funded Gunrunner Project"
April 16, 2011
By Jim Hoft
Senator Charles Grassley (R-IA) has damning evidence that US ATF officials sanctioned or allowed the sale of assault weapons to straw purchasers. The agency was doing this on purpose. The government encouraged this. Two of the weapons ended up at the murder scene of a US border patrol agent in Arizona, Brian Terry. Obama says he and Holder knew nothing about Operation Gunrunner.
Senator Grassley spoke out on his investigation yesterday on the floor of the senate.
This is an amazing video.
Between 13 and 1,700 guns got away and that’s just what has turned up so far. Several of the guns have been connected to criminal acts. Obama’s failed stimulus plan helped fund the program.

Levin rips Donald Trump to shreds
April 15, 2011
The Right Scoop
Levin points out many things about Trump that show he is no conservative, but a few of the glaring ones are the fact that he support Charlie Crist over Marco Rubio twice, as well as calling for the impeachment of George W. Bush, accusing him of lying to get us in the war. Oh yeah, and he supported Universal Health Care in America, the Canadian style.
And there’s more. To Listen

Paul Ryan: This is the moment to fix America
April 15, 2011
The Right Scoop
His main point is put forth in a question he asks:
[The 2008 financial] crisis caught us by surprise. It was unpredictable – we didn’t see it coming.
Let me ask you this.
What if your President and your member of Congress saw it coming? What if they knew why it was happening, when it was going to happen, and more importantly they knew what to do to stop it and they had time to stop it but they didn’t, because of politics?
What would you think of that person?
Mr. Chairman that is where we are right now. This is the most predictable economic crisis we’ve ever had in the history of this country. And yet, we have a President who is unwilling to lead. We have too many politicians worried about the next election and not worried about the next generation.

AZ ‘Birther’ Bill Passes Senate
Requires Presidential Candidates to Show Proof of Citizenship
April 15, 2011
By Jim Hoft
If Barack Obama wants to be included on the ballot in Arizona in 2012 he will have to show proof of citizenship. The Arizona senate passed their “birther” bill last night. The bill will now be sent to Republican Governor Jan Brewer who will sign it into law.
AZ Central reported:
The Arizona Legislature has become the first in the nation to pass a measure requiring presidential candidates to provide proof of citizenship in order to get on the state’s ballot.
House Bill 2177 got final approval Thursday night from the House. It will be transmitted to Gov. Jan Brewer, who will then have five days to sign it, veto it or do nothing and allow it to become law.
If Brewer chooses to veto the bill, Republican lawmakers could attempt an override vote. The bill would become law if two-thirds of legislators supported the override.
“It’s essential that we bring back the integrity to the office,” Rep. Judy Burges, R-Skull Valley, said during a recent debate on one of the so-called “birther” measures.
HB 2177, sponsored by Rep. Carl Seel, R-Phoenix, would require presidential and vice presidential candidates to provide the Arizona secretary of state with documents proving they are natural-born citizens. Read More

Hawaii gas prices set record on Maui; near all-time high
The most expensive gas in Hawaii was on the island of Maui
April 15, 2011
Star Advertiser
Hawaii's average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline hit a nation-leading $4.46 on Thursday, 28 cents higher than second-place California.
The state's average on Thursday was 12 cents higher than a week ago, 44 cents more than a month ago and 91 cents more than last year, according to AAA data.
It is just 5 cents below the all-time record of $4.51 set on July 31, 2008.
The most expensive gas in Hawaii was on the island of Maui, where the average price was $4.77, down a penny after hitting a record of $4.78 on Wednesday. The previous Wailuku record was $4.75 in August 2008.
The average price for a gallon of regular in Honolulu was $4.36, just five cents below the record high for Honolulu of $4.39 set on July 29, 2008
As most states brace for gas to climb to $4, Hawaii was the first to reach that mark a month ago. Now three other states share that distinction: Alaska, California and Illinois.
The national average reached $3.81 Thursday. Wyoming was the cheapest in the country at $3.53.
"There's no doubt that across the country the pain is being felt, but more acutely in Hawaii," said Marie Montgomery, spokeswoman for Automobile Club of Southern California, which covers Hawaii. Read More
