5 Wars America Must End For Peace And Freedom To Prevail

February 3, 2011

I've gotten to the point where I cringe whenever I hear the word 'war'. Even when it's used to seemingly combat something noble sounding such as the war on poverty or the war on hunger. It's become apparent that all wars cause damage no matter if it's a figurative war or an actual war. It's also obvious that when a war is declared on a social problem, the State is announcing a power grab which is going to result in less freedom.

War creates an enemy that must be extinguished by government force. The more broadly defined the enemy is, the bigger the government's role becomes in eradicating it. And when the government wages war against anything, it's a cycle that's nearly impossible to stop. The government creates new agencies, and staffs them with union jobs that depend on never actually winning the wars, but rather only perpetuating them.

When poverty rates climb, there's a crew of government workers secretly high-fiving that their job is safe. When marijuana legalization measures fail, the police and prison unions celebrate. When America is attacked, the weapons manufacturers rejoice. When all Americans are considered terror suspects, surveillance industry stocks soar. And we pay for it all in treasure and freedom.

This self-fueling cycle is destructive and must end for peace and freedom to expand. That begins with realizing that there is no real enemy, but rather the inflated or imagined creations of the government/corporate power structures that benefit most from war. Never lacking in genuine empathy, most who support funding these social wars also rail against the corporate interests that control Washington, while never realizing they're one and the same. They feed each other. When one grows fat, so does the other, while the citizen grows skinny and weak.

Here are five wars that must end for peace and freedom to prevail: Read More

A warning to America from the future

"No-o-o, go back! Don't come down this road!"

In Europe, there has been over the past two years a seismic shift in the opinion of the American president, who was once thought of as an agent for "hope and change" (something many in Europe could not explain either). I have often written about the opinion many in Europe have of Barack Obama.

Yesterday one of my favorite columnists, Janet Daley, who writes for The Telegraph in Great Britain, penned an outstanding article clearly calling out Barack Obama for who he is and what he is doing. The title of the piece: "Barack Obama is Trying to Make The US a More Socialist State."

From the column:

Listening to the President's State of the Union message last week was like a surreal visit to our own recent past: there were almost word for word all those interminable Gordon Brown Budgets that preached "fairness" while listing endless ways in which central government would intervene in every form of economic activity.

TSA: Greatest Liars On Earth

January 27, 2011
Kurt Nimmo
Infowars.com

In the following video, Alex Jones takes the TSA to task for its pathological lying about the danger of naked body porno scanners.

But as Jones notes, it is not simply the TSA that continually lies. The entire government is perpetually and habitually involved in all kinds of lies and fabrications – from George Bush’s deadly lie about WMDs in Iraq (that cost over a million Iraqis their lives) to countless sundry lies on all kinds of government activity (most recently the lies told to us about the government’s gun running operation to the banker drug cartels in Mexico).

In the video, Alex breaks down the lie told by government and its compliant corporate media propaganda tool about the outrageous and unconstitutional detainment of Kentucky Senator Rand Paul at the airport in Nashville.

The cops in Tennessee insisted Paul was “irate” about his illegal detainment, but a security video later released shows the Senator sitting calmly in a chair waiting for the TSA and the cops to let him travel. Of course, after insisting Paul was angry and uncooperative, the corporate media lie machine did not bother to pick up on the story published by The Tennessean. Read More

Georgia Ballot Challenge: Obama Walks On By

Two AT writers attended yesterday's hearing in Georgia over President Obama's eligibility for the presidential ballot. Cindy Simpson writes:

President Obama has a habit of turning his back and walking away from those with whom he disagrees, as recently discovered by Arizona Governor Jan Brewer. Professor John Lott, in an interview with Teri O'Brien, recalled similar experiences with Obama while at the University of Chicago.

Ms. O'Brien commented to Professor Lott: "Gods don't debate. They just issue decrees."

And apparently they also tend to place themselves above the law.

On January 26, I was in Atlanta to observe the hearings on the challenges to Obama's eligibility to appear on Georgia's 2012 ballot. In two previous American Thinker blog posts, "The Birthers Went Down to Georgia" and "Georgia on Obama's Mind," I described the content and history of the cases.

The courtroom was crowded to maximum capacity; however, the table for the defense was notably vacant. The defendant, Obama himself, was also not in attendance, even though the judge last week refused to quash the subpoena requesting his presence. Judge Michael Malihi, in his denial, stated:

...Defendant fails to provide any legal authority to support his motion to quash the subpoena to attend. Defendant's motion suggests that no President should be compelled to attend a Court hearing. This may be correct. But Defendant has failed to enlighten the Court with any legal authority...evidencing why his attendance is "unreasonable or oppressive, or that the testimony... [is] irrelevant, immaterial, or cumulative and unnecessary..."

Obama's attorney, Michael Jablonski, had warned of his absence in a defiant and last-minute move on the afternoon of January 25, via a letter he sent to Georgia's Secretary of State Brian Kemp. He requested that Kemp "bring an end to this baseless, costly and unproductive hearing by withdrawing the original hearing request as improvidently issued." Jablonski's letter concluded: "We await your taking the requested action, and as we do so, we will, of course, suspend further participation in these proceedings, including the hearing scheduled for January 26."  Read More

by JADE MINGUS / KVUE News

USTIN -- Friends and family will honor the life of a Westlake High School student who died on Christmas.

Funeral services for Ben Breedlove are scheduled for Thursday at 3 p.m. at Gateway Church on McNeil in Northwest Austin.

The 18-year-old's message of faith and awareness of his illness lives on thanks to videos he posted on YouTube. The last video Breedlove posted before his death on Christmas Day has nearly one million views.

Breedlove suffered from a condition called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. It causes a thickening of the heart, making it harder to pump blood.

Breedlove raised awareness about his condition through his YouTube videos. Now several people have posted tribute videos to Breedlove on YouTube remembering his life.

Friends hope Breedlove's message continues to live on.

"He just wanted to spread the word that even though he had this hardship he could still get through it," said Breedlove's friend Eden Young.

A Facebook tribute page and fund-raising site have been made in Breedlove's honor.

Chemtrails In Hawaii: Investigating Chemtrails And Geoengineering

Investigating Chemtrails Geoegngineering

Maui has had the driest weather in recorded history over the last few years. This dryness is likely linked to Geoengineering activities based on the governmental operations of the USGCRP which The Intel Hub reported on in early 2011.

Chemtrails, weather modification, and geoengineering are no longer a conspiracy theory. In fact these activities have been approved by the President and congress alike as pointed out in the article “Secret Presidential Chemtrail Budget Uncovered, Congress Exceeds Billions To Spray Populace Like Roaches”.

Elevated levels of barium, aluminum, and strontium have been found in the local rain water threatening the health of plant, animal, and human life.

This year the rain did not come in the first two months of the year as usual, it came later in the season according to local organic farmers (signifying changing patterns).

Some plants have even experienced what is known as “sudden death” possibly due to the high alkaline content of the soil as a result of geoengineering aerosol spraying. Some soil samples indicate a 20 to 50 times increase in the alkaline consistency.

Ron Paul Responds to Obama’s SOTU

From the Ron Paul 2012 website:

“Tonight, President Obama once again showed that he does not represent the fundamental change this country needs. Instead of offering solutions to the problems our country faces, the President was intent on delivering a campaign speech, further dealing in the typical Washington political gamesmanship that has gotten us exactly nowhere close to improving the lives of the American people. Obama Asks For More Power

The executive branch also needs to change. Too often, it’s inefficient, outdated and remote. That’s why I’ve asked this Congress to grant me the authority to consolidate the federal bureaucracy so that our Government is leaner, quicker, and more responsive to the needs of the American people.

A Generation Losing Hope: The Shattering of the American Dream

It is time that we demand that our nation re-establish its moral compass.  It is essential that we reward hard work and end the mentality of an "entitled society."
January 24, 2011
By Frank Ryan
The American Thinker

Before our very eyes, a generation of Americans is losing faith in the American dream and adopting attitudes and behaviors that emphasize living for the day, not planning to take care of their own futures. They clearly see the problems ahead and draw rational conclusions.

Most of our problems have been caused by government. The unintended consequences of poorly thought out legislation or legislation designed merely to garner votes for re-election is wreaking havoc on economic opportunity for our country.

For one, the regulatory burden by our government on economic growth is well-known. The regulatory impact of the Dodd-Frank bill, the Affordable Care Act, No Child Left Behind, and the EPA all influence costs but, concurrently, adversely affect productivity and our competitiveness in world markets.
