Mr. Boehner: Shut Her Down!

"My message to them is shut the sucker down! You will not get blamed. There will be no blame. There will be credit. When we all see that no one gets vaporized when the government "shuts down," there will be a fresh wind of a national teachable moment out there for all to see."

When John Boehner teared up like a schoolgirl last November on election night, it became clear to most of the folks who had cast votes that ultimately propelled him to the top of his profession that the Speaker in waiting had no clue as to what had just happened to propel him to that office.

There were reasons for tears of joy, but the House career ladder was not one of them. For some mystifying reason, the man from Ohio thought his storybook rise to power was the point.

Uh John, it was not. Let me help you out.

The point was that there is way too much power -- and way too much of our yet to be earned money -- concentrated around folks in Boehner's profession. The point is that we want to reduce, not celebrate, that power. And yet, the election's final score was not even determined when we got our first sobering reminder that Boehner had no idea what had just happened. (Not that this shocked us frankly.)

He was celebrating what Washington had just done for John Boehner -- while we were steamed about what Washington has done to all of us.

So just what perverted John Boehner, the tough-minded business owner who was first elected to Congress in the early 90's? That's the Boehner we need now, not the one whose tear ducts and skin pigment have been put on high alert after nearly two decades of power and privilege in D.C.

Alas, we can only assume that business ownership and other realities of life outside government are but a distant memory for Boehner. Let me clue Mr. Boehner in: running a business now is infinitely harder than it was when he last tried it. In fact, doing almost anything is harder now. And Washington is the reason. Clearly, the Ohioan has lost touch with that reality.  Read More

It’s Time We Stop Pretending

"The question is this: Can Americans wake up, acknowledge government is not the solution but rather the problem, and throw out the swindlers?"

March 31, 2011

Robert L. Hale
3/30/2011

Most of us are familiar with the Brothers Grimm fairy tale about the King’s Magical New Suit. The story goes like this: “Your Majesty,” said the swindler tailors, “This is a magic suit.” The truth was that there was no suit at all. But the clever swindlers said, “Your Majesty, to a wise man this is a beautiful raiment, but to a fool it is absolutely invisible.”

Naturally, the King did not want to appear a fool, and so he bought the swindle — hook, line, and sinker. Yet he was indeed a fool. While standing there naked, he allowed himself to be convinced he had been given a beautiful suit that only existed in his imagination.

America’s voters have fallen for the same swindle that Grimm’s tailors sold the king in this famous fairy tale. America’s politicians are swindling tailors. But what is happening to America is no fairy tale.  Read More

I Want An American President

To quote Coach Dave Daubenmire's... "My allegiance isn’t to the “world”, or to the environment, or to the government. I cling to my God and my guns, my wife and my kids, my family and my friends. I love America, apple pie, and Chevrolet."

I feel and think exactly as he does!

"You know "shady" when you see it. Barack Obama, and his wife, are shady. In fact, there is a dark cloud hanging all over this regime."

March 31, 2011
By Coach Dave Daubenmire

I know what you are thinking. Coach Dave is finally coming out of the closet as a “Birther.” He has joined that ‘”fringe element” in America that doesn’t think that Barack Obama is an United States citizen.

Well, to be perfectly honest, I have been part of that group for quite awhile. I question where the president was born. What is wrong with that? “Trust but verify” a wise man once proclaimed. I think Obama would be wise to come clean on a lot of things.

He is a “shady” character. That is what my mother would have called him 30 years ago when folks were permitted to make judgment calls about people without being called names. Today there are groups of people that you are not able to criticize, at least not unless you are willing to face an onslaught of accusations designed to destroy your character.

Most folks don’t want to have to go through it, so they just learn to keep their opinions to themselves. As a result, this call for “civility” has created a culture where the “shady” ones are able to get away with treason.

Obama Promises El Salvador New Amnesty for Illegal Aliens

"Obama’s “broad comprehensive approach” is to open the borders wide, let the illegals pour in and then give them tons of our tax dollars and hope they’ll be good citizens"

Jerry McConnell

Well, he’s still at it; giving our country away just as if he were born to it and all of its wealth and assets are his to give away at his pleasure. I once likened him in a column to a drunken sailor, for which I was seriously chastized by a former drunken (?) sailor who was offended to have me compare him to the usurper charlatan in our White House.

So now instead of comparing Obama as I did before, I will just state flatly that he is on a mission to break our financial backs with his probably illegal insistence on promising whatever he chooses to any one or body of people that he alone decides is worthy of receiving the redistribution of our tax dollars. Keep in mind, I said “promising” funds that he calls “crime-fighting money.”

At least on the amnesty part he did say that he “vowed” to push the U. S. Congress to pass an immigration bill to aid El Salvador according to the Washington Times Kara Rowland on March 22, 2011 from San Salvador, El Salvador.

But where is it written in our Constitution or any of our laws that he has the authority to do that? I have never seen it anywhere but I would be happy to know if it is in writing somewhere.  Read More

Fukushima Meltdown Update

March 31, 2011
By Mike Adams

"Fukushima meltdown update: Cesium in the soil, ocean waters contaminated and fuel core meltdown now under way"

(NaturalNews) Here are the latest developments on the Fukushima catastrophe, including quotes from a well-known physicist who is now raising the alarm over "three raging meltdowns" at the Fukushima complex.

• As the Wall Street Journal reports (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB100...), the U.S. government has now admitted that radiation is being found in milk from Washington state. They say it's "safe" to drink, of course. That's the U.S. government for you: Irradiated milk is safe, but raw milk is dangerous!

• The battle to save Fukushima is now over, as Japanese officials admit the nuclear power complex must now be abandoned and entombed (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...). The Dailymail published, "officials said it would mean switching off all power and abandoning attempts to keep the nuclear fuel rods cool." The problem with that, of course, is that there are already "three raging meltdowns" under way as Dr. Kaku explains (below). If you abandon efforts to cool the fuel rods, then an accelerated meltdown is "inevitable," says Dr. Kaku.  Read More

Radiation Traces Found in U.S. Milk

"We recognize the concerns of our consumers, and the U.S. dairy industry will continue to work closely with federal and state government agencies to ensure that we maintain a safe milk supply."

By STEPHEN POWER

The U.S. government said Wednesday that traces of radiation have been found in milk in Washington state, but said the amounts are far too low to trigger any public-health concern.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano said the government is working to bring the current nuclear crisis to a close without compromising the health of the Japanese people.

The Environmental Protection Agency said a March 25 sample of milk produced in the Spokane, Wash., area contained a 0.8 pico curies per literlevel of iodine-131, which it said was less than one five-thousandth of the safety safety guideline set by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The EPA said it increased monitoring after radiation leaked from Japan's Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant. It expects more such findings in coming days, but in amounts "far below levels of public-health concern, including for infants and children.   Read More

Al Qaeda's Libya Pilgrimage

"As debate rages in Washington over whether to arm anti-Gaddafi rebels, an exclusive report by The Daily Beast indicates al Qaeda forces are gearing up to join the rebels and seize power in Libya."

March 30, 2011
By Ron Moreau and Sami Yousafzai

As the battle for the future of Libya continues, the excitement is almost palpable among Libyan-born al Qaeda fighters and other Arabs hunkered down in Pakistan's remote and lawless tribal area. According to Afghan Taliban sources close to Osama bin Laden's terrorist group, some of the 200 or so Libyans operating near the Afghan border may be on their way home to steer the anti-Gaddafi revolution in a more Islamist direction.

"We have heard a number of fighters have already departed from the tribal area," says an Afghan commander who is linked to the powerful Haqqani network, a North Waziristan-based organization that shelters many al Qaeda fighters. Others may be on their way. "Libyans and Arabs seem to be getting ready for departure and are eager to go home and fight," says the Afghan source. "I've heard that some fighters are saying goodbye and giving thanks with kind words to their (Pakistani) tribal friends who have been sheltering them."

Since the anti-Gaddafi revolution began last month, al Qaeda—especially Libyan-born affiliates—have viewed the fighting as an opportunity to spread their radical Islamist ideology. Indeed, as one Afghan Taliban operative who helps facilitate the movement of al Qaeda militants between the tribal area and Pakistani cities told The Daily Beast earlier this month: "This rebellion is the fresh breeze they've been waiting years for. They realize that if they don't use this opportunity, it could be the end of their chances to turn Libya toward a real Islamic state, as Afghanistan once was."  Read More

Evicting a President

"Barack Obama cannot resign or be impeached because he was never really the President"

March 30, 2011

By Lawrence Sellin
3/28/2011

According to urban myth, formerly known as the US Constitution, only a natural born citizen can be President i.e. one born on US soil of parents both of whom are US citizens.

Unfortunately, the entire American political leadership and the main stream media may only have read the Cliffs Notes version of “Dreams from My Father”, which must have omitted the fact that Barack Obama’s father was born in Kenya and, at the time of Barack’s birth, was a British subject.

At some point in time, when our fearless leaders in Congress and our non-partisan press emerge from their self-induced anesthesia, they might experience a Casablanca moment, “shocked, shocked” that all these years they have been victims of such a clever scam.

One can only hope that we can, in some way, capture the energy of their hand-wringing as a replacement for the domestic fossil fuel reserves we no longer exploit.  Read More

Chronic Stress: The number one health destroyer is all natural

March 30, 2011
By Mike Bundrant

(NaturalNews) It is linked to nearly every major disease and multiple non-lethal conditions that plague us. Heart disease, diabetes, cancer, hypertension, high blood pressure, peptic ulcers, headaches, chronic anxiety, depression and addictive disorders that foster unhealthy lifestyles are all scientifically linked to chronic stress. In fact, over 50 conditions have been correlated with high stress lifestyles. Even obesity and all the health issues that flow from it, is believed to be a direct result of chronic and excessive stress.

No organ system is immune to the effects of stress. Here is a brief and partial synopsis of the damage stress can do to the body:

Hair: Excessive hair loss and premature baldness are linked to excessive stress

Skin: Eczema, psoriasis, hives, excessive blushing and sweating are linked to stress

Digestion: Stress is know to cause gastritis, colitis, stomach and duodenal ulcers, IBS and other digestive disorders.

Heart: Cardiovascular disease, hypertension, high blood pressure are linked to cumulative stress.

Mouth: Ulcers and excessive dryness of the mouth can be stress related.

Muscles: Stress may cause tightness, soreness, spasm, aching, lower back pain, twitching and muscular tics.

Lungs: Shortness of breath, panic disorder and exacerbation of asthmatic conditions are linked to stress.

Brain: Stress causes psychological conditions such as anxiety, insomnia, depression, irritability and even personality changes.

Reproductive organs: Menstrual disorders, vaginal infections, premature ejaculation and impotence can be stress related.

Chronic, overwhelming stress may be the number one plague of modern life. How does it work? Stress activates a chain of hormonal events that was originally designed to protect our ancestors from wild beasts. We've all heard of the fight-or-flight mechanism. Consistent mental and emotional stress fires up this response system and keeps it active in an ongoing way. The results are staggering. Here is what the Mayo Clinic has to say:

"The long-term activation of the stress-response system -- and the subsequent overexposure to cortisol and other stress hormones -- can disrupt almost all your body's processes."

If you don't get a handle on your chronic stress in a personally noticeable way, such that you can feel the difference in your body each and every day, rest assured it is doing damage daily. Low stress people live longer. Highly stressed people live shorter lives.

A 2005 study headed by Dr. Elissa Epel at the University of California, San Francisco drives this point home. CBS News Correspondent Scott Pelley, who followed the study closely, reported that stress speeds aging at a cellular level by damaging your DNA. In a sense, stress creates chaos that affects your chromosomes.

Of the stressed out participants in the study, Dr. Epel remarked, "It was as though there had been in excess of 10 years of extra aging in these individuals' blood cells. And that's a very conservative estimate."

What to do? Reduce your stress. It should be everyone's number one health priority. Stress reduction can be approached in different ways. There are practical, external methods to consider:

* Get organized. Organizing your home, office and your schedule can have a dramatic impact on your level of stress.

* Cut back. Take an honest look at your work, family, home and community responsibilities. Have you taken on too much? Are you able to enjoy your personal commitments?

* Delegate. Whose help can you enlist to get things done?

There are also internal methods for reducing stress that involve managing your mind and body. They involve mediation or prayer, cognitive behavioral approaches, self-hypnosis, NLP, deep breathing, yoga and so on. When choosing a method to use, pick something that is practical. Stress reduction techniques and programs can be very helpful, but only if practiced consistently. Most of all, choose something that actually makes you feel relaxed in an ongoing way. If you can't feel the difference, there isn't any! If you find a method that works for you, evidence suggests there is great hope for your long-term benefit.

In the Cal State San Francisco study, the mothers who knew how to cope with stress didn't suffer the same cellular damage, regardless of how hectic their lives were.

Dr. Epel said, "It appears that resilience can ward off sickness and let us live longer, while those who feel overwhelmed by life may have a shorter one to live."

"I think that this is yet another call to people to be alarmed about their stress levels," Epel continued, "and to take them seriously. The cell is not a closed system. What happens in the mind, in particular, perceptions of stress, can indeed affect the most fundamental unit of our physical beings."

Fukushima beyond point of no return as radioactive core melts through containment vessel

"The policy in Washington today seems to be that no event is serious enough to warrant preparedness actions among the American people."

March 30, 2011
By Mike Adams

NaturalNews) The battle to save the Fukushima nuclear power plant now appears lost as the radioactive core from Reactor No. 2 has melted through the containment vessel and dropped into the concrete basement of the reactor structure. This is "raising fears of a major release of radiation at the site," reports The Guardian, which broke the story (http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/201...). A former General Electric nuclear expert told The Guardian that Japan appears to have "lost the race" to save the reactor.

The only feasible interpretation from this analysis is that radiation emissions from Fukushima could suddenly become much greater. It is also now obvious that the radioactive fallout from Fukushima will last for decades, if not centuries.

Japan's Prime Minister Naoto Kan last night admitted the situation at Fukushima remains "unpredictable." Meanwhile, the presence of plutonium in soil samples is proof that the nuclear fuel rods have been compromised and are releasing material into the open atmosphere. Levin to Republicans: Go for the political jugular!

Levin to Republicans: Stand up and stop whining, pandering, and behaving like soul-less mush

March 30, 2011
By The Right Scoop

Last night Mark Levin decided to give Republicans some advice, noting that we have ALL the arguments on our side and the Democrats have none. This is why Schumer and his Democrat colleagues have to engage in lies and propaganda because they can’t tell us the truth about what they are doing. Otherwise we’d throw them out.

Levin implores Republicans, primarily the Republican leadership, to go for the political jugular:

"Go for the political jugular! Kick them in the political you know what! Go on the offense! You define the issues and you can do it with the truth! You can destroy these leftists,if you give it a try."

In Tunisia, act of one fruit vendor unleashes wave of revolution through Arab world

The spark that ignited a revolution in the Arab world: Revolutions are explosions of frustration and rage that build over time, sometimes over decades. Although their political roots are deep, it is often a single spark that ignites them — an assassination, perhaps, or one selfless act of defiance.

SIDI BOUZID, TUNISIA — On the evening before Mohammed Bouazizi lit a fire that would black burn across the Arab world, the young fruit vendor told his mother that the oranges, dates and apples he had to sell were the best he’d ever seen. “With this fruit,” he said, “I can buy some gifts for you. Tomorrow will be a good day."

For years, Bouazizi had told his mother stories of corruption at the fruit market, where vendors gathered under a cluster of ficus trees on the main street of this scruffy town, not far from Tunisia’s Mediterranean beaches. Arrogant police officers treated the market as their personal picnic grounds, taking bagfuls of fruit without so much as a nod toward payment. The cops took visible pleasure in subjecting the vendors to one indignity after another — fining them, confiscating their scales, even ordering them to carry their stolen fruit to the cops’ cars.

Before dawn on Friday, Dec. 17, as Bouazizi pulled his cart along the narrow, rutted stone road toward the market, two police officers blocked his path and tried to take his fruit. Bouazizi’s uncle rushed to help his 26-year-old nephew, persuading the officers to let the rugged-looking young man complete his one-mile trek.

The uncle visited the chief of police and asked him for help. The chief called in a policewoman who had stopped Bouazizi, Fedya Hamdi, and told her to let the boy work.

Hamdi, outraged by the appeal to her boss, returned to the market. She took a basket of Bouazizi’s apples and put it in her car. Then she started loading a second basket. This time, according to Alladin Badri, who worked the next cart over, Bouazizi tried to block the officer.  Read More

Al-Qaeda Joins Libyan Rebels Ranks

Let’s Arm Them!… 1,000 Jihadist Extremists Join Libyan Rebel Movement

March 30, 2011
Gateway Pundit
By Jim Hoft

Yesterday NATO Supreme Allied Commander in Europe ADM James Stavridis told a committee that there were “flickers” of Al-Qaeda in the Libyan rebels ranks.

So 1,000 jihadists is a “flicker”?

Today a “former” Al-Qaeda member told reporters that he believes there are 1,000 jihadists who have joined the Libyan rebel movement. This is the same day that Hillary Clinton suggested that we arm the rebels.
The Washington Times reported:

A former leader of Libya’s al Qaeda affiliate says he thinks “freelance jihadists” have joined the rebel forces, as NATO’s commander told Congress on Tuesday that intelligence indicates some al Qaeda and Hezbollah terrorists are fighting Col. Moammar Gadhafi’s forces.

Former jihadist Noman Benotman, who renounced his al Qaeda affiliation in 2000, said in an interview that he estimates 1,000 jihadists are in Libya.

On Capitol Hill, Adm. James Stavridis, the NATO commander, when asked about the presence of al Qaeda terrorists among the rebels, said the leadership of the opposition is made up of “responsible men and women.”

“We have seen flickers in the intelligence of potential al Qaeda, Hezbollah,” the four-star admiral said. “We’ve seen different things. But at this point, I don’t have detail sufficient to say that there’s a significant al Qaeda presence, or any other terrorist presence, in and among these folks.”

The military is continuing to “look at that very closely,” he said, because “it’s part of doing due diligence as we move forward on any kind of relationship” with the opposition.

Outside observers generally estimate the number of trained Libyan fighters to be about 1,000.
