Drain the Government Pond

Washington D.C. Has Become A Cesspool

25 Bizarre Examples That Show That The U.S. Government Is Absolutely Brimming With Idiots, Incompetents And Incredibly Corrupt Politicians

End of the American Dream
March 8, 2011

If our founding fathers could see us today, what would they think?  Unfortunately, they would probably come to the exact same conclusion that so many of us have come to - the U.S. government is absolutely brimming with idiots, incompetents and incredibly corrupt politicians.  Today it is very rare to come across a politician that still has any integrity left.  Washington D.C. has become such a cesspool that it seems to corrupt even most of the politicians that originally go there with good intentions.  We have created the most complicated government in the history of the world and we have hundreds of thousands of pages of laws, and yet nothing seems to work right.  Our economy is dying, our relationships with the rest of the world are a mess and we have accumulated the largest debt in the history of mankind.  Meanwhile, our politicians openly hand out our money to their friends and to those that have donated money to their campaigns and they waste our money on some of the stupidest things imaginable.  Have we now gotten to the point where our system of government has become so corrupted that it is almost impossible to repair it?  Read  More

Denial of the existence of Objective Truth & Fixed Principles

Progressive Education & Bad Philosophy Corrupted The People & Undermined U.S. Constitution

Publius Huldah
3/6/2011

Throughout human history, the prevailing belief system changes from time to time & place to place; most people unthinkingly absorb whatever happens to be the prevailing dogma of their time & place. Here, I will show the radical differences between the philosophy of our Founding Era and the philosophy of today. And when I have done so, you will understand why our Country is declining and what you can do about it. In a nutshell, the Enlightenment philosophy of our Founding Era, which was based on Reason and the recognition of the existence of Fixed Principles, was taken away from us; and replaced with the subjective philosophies of Pragmatism & Existentialism, both of which reject Reason and deny the existence of Objective Truth & Fixed Principles. These are now the prevailing dogma of our Time; and unless we promptly repudiate them, we will fall.

Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, & John Jay (authors of The Federalist Papers), and others at the Federal Convention of 1787, embodied the best aspects of The Age of Enlightenment. They were well educated, exquisitely knowledgeable in statecraft & political philosophy, embraced the concepts of Objective Reality & Fixed Principles, knew Logic, and could think. George Washington, a man renowned for his Moral Character, which was based on Judeo-Christian ideals, presided over the Convention.  Read More

Duped! Relentless Marxist Deception

“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” Norman Thomas, former U.S. Socialist Party president candidate

Those of my age—I am in my seventies—have a strong recall of the Cold War, fought from the end of World War Two in 1945 until the fall of the infamous Berlin Wall on November 9, 1989 and the subsequent collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. We grew up knowing that the Communists—Marxists—were the enemy.

All throughout that period, American liberals—Leftists—did what they could to ridicule efforts to rid the government of Communists, attacked those like Sen. Joseph McCarthy who spoke out against them, defended the likes of Fidel Castro who turned Cuba into a prison-state, and worked to “improve” U.S.-Soviet relations.

A book I wish everyone would read, liberals and conservatives alike, “Dupes” by Paul Kengor, went into a second printing in January of this year (ISI Books, Intercollegiate Studies Institute, Wilmington, DE). Kengor, a PhD, is a professor of political science at Grove City College. His book runs just over 600 pages, all thoroughly documented, and tells the history of the effort to impose communism on America and worldwide, dating back to the Bolshevik revolution in 1917.  Read More

NRA: The Truth About Arms Trafficking in Mexico

Brasscheck TV
March 7, 2011
… and the lies designed to demonize YOUR guns

Yesterday we reported that the ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms) has been caught red-handed actively aiding criminals in the illegal export of firearms (including 50 caliber rifles!) from the US to Mexican drug gangs.

At least one of these ATF-facilitated weapons turns out to have been used to murder a US border patrol agent.

Gun store owners warned the ATF about what was going on.

They were ignored.

ATF agents on the ground warned their superiors.

They were told to “shut up” and follow orders and that the orders came from the top, straight from Bushbama’s Department of Justice.

So what exactly did these government criminals have in mind when they enabled the flow of US weapons to Mexico?

Well, if you’ve been listening to Osama Bushbama and his fellow anti-2nd amendment nuts over the last few years, they’ve been singing the song that: “90% of the guns that criminals in Mexico have come from the US.”

There’s just one problem with that story: It happens to be a straight up lie.

But it looks like Bushbama & Company have been doing their best behind the scenes to make it so by ordering ATF agents in the field (via the Department of Justice) to stand down and let illegal weapons exports flow unimpeded to Mexico.

Here’s the all-important back story that no one is connecting to this scandal. (From our friends at 2nd Amendment TV)

STATES HAVE NO RIGHTS ACCORDING TO MANY STATE LEGISLATORS

March 7, 2011
By J.B. Williams

The current daily federal assault on state and individual rights has nearly every state legislature and governor scrambling to figure out what their state rights really are and how to assert them, before state sovereignty is completely eliminated under the assumed powers of so-called Federal Supremacy.

Unlike federal legislators, state legislators swear an oath to protect and preserve the rights of their states and establish state policy on behalf of state citizens. They are obligated to live within the confines of the US Constitution in so doing, but their primary oath is to the people of their individual state, not the federal government.

Yet many state officials have a convoluted understanding of their oath and obligations, claiming the existence of states’ rights, but no right or means to assert these rights.  Read More

“THIS TIME, WE WILL WIN”

Call to Arms!

March 7, 2011
By One Pissed-off Vietnam Vet

Now, as during the Vietnam war, it seems that the most dangerous enemy we have is our very own Government. When I was in Vietnam, I didn’t have the assistance that was required to fulfill my mission due to incompetent leaders. But now we will not be taking orders from untruthful, untrained, unqualified, and unscrupulous leaders. This time we will win because we are the best trained, the best experienced, and the best lead.. Just as those who fought in the Revolutionary War, we definitely have the attitude edge. Back then, it was “Don’t Tread on Me.” The modern version is “Don’t **** with Me”, but for a ‘G’ rating we’ll stick with “Don’t Mess with Me!”

We are being backed up against a wall because the Federal Government refuses to enforce the laws that are on the books. We have an illegal immigration problem that has become a national nightmare. On top of that, we have an illegal Muslim immigrant occupying the presidency. And then we have an Attorney General who called the New Black Panthers “My people.”

Okay, I can play that game too. All of the Vietnam Vets, and everyone else who is willing to stand with me to defend the Constitution, are my people and my people are mighty upset with the Joint Chiefs of Staff for allowing LTC Lakin to be carted off to jail, as if he were a common criminal, for lawfully asking to see the putative President’s long- form birth certificate, for which every Secretary of State should have asked in 2008.

The bugles are sounding. Time to muster. Front and center. Present arm!  Read More

Government Union Collective Bargaining 101

The political class and their mouthpieces in the corporate controlled mainstream media are desperately trying to spin the oil price surge as a temporary inconvenience that will not derail their phony recovery story. Brent crude closed at $116 per barrel yesterday. West Texas crude closed at $104 per barrel. Unleaded gas has risen by 22% in the last month and 60% since September 1, 2010. I’m sure this slight increase hasn’t impacted Ben Bernanke or Lloyd Blankfein. Their limo drivers just charge it to their unlimited expense accounts. Joe Sixpack, driving his 15 mpg Dodge RAM pickup, is now forking over an extra $1,200 per year in gas expenditures, not to mention more for everything impacted by oil such as food, utilities, and anything transported to their local Wal-Mart by truck (everything). Luckily, the Federal Reserve and crooked politicians only care about their comrades in the top 1% elitist society, for whom oil is an investment, not an expense.  Read More

The Free Market Death Panel

Who is the TMPG, and why should I care???

Zero Hedge
March 4, 2011
By Tyler Durden

The Treasury Market Practices Group (TMPG) is made up of various market participants (representing custodial banks, investment “banks”, hedge funds, etc.. ) and attended by Brian Sack and six other representatives of the Federal Bank of New York. This group is nothing more than the financial equivalent of a free market death panel. (Is this sensationalism? Maybe? Maybe not? …but no less than the GOP’s spin-“doctoring” of socialized healthcare!) First I will give the background of what the TMPG does. Next I will take you on a journey of how they are actively/inactively working on policing (or “policy-ing”) the financial system. (This journey will involve my real life interactions with their members and the results of their action/inaction.) Finally, I will flesh out what this means to you.  Read More

Utah Considers Return To Gold And Silver

Alt-Market
March 5, 2011
By Brandon Smith

"Many states have legislation like this in the works, but I think that without ample trade networking and organizing taking place, lawmakers will not put it on the fast track. The States have to see that gold and silver trade is taking off with or without them. If they don't get in on the action, they will be left in the dust. If a legislator introduces a sound money bill to your state, get your friends, family, and barter network to call and write non-stop. Let your state know sound money needs to be taken seriously before it is too late...."

Utah Considers Return to Gold, Silver Coins

Its been nearly 80 years since the U.S. stopped using gold coins as legal currency, and nearly 40 since the world abandoned the gold standard, but the precious metal could be making a comeback in the United States -- beginning in Utah.

The Utah House was to vote as early as Thursday on legislation that would recognize gold and silver coins issued by the federal government as legal currency in the state. The coins would not replace the current paper currency but would be used and accepted voluntarily as an alternative.

The legislation, which has 12 co-sponsors, would let Utahans pay their taxes with gold and also calls for a committee to study alternative currencies for the state. It would also exempt the sale of gold from the state capital gains tax....

The Right Scoop on Mar 4, 2011

Mark says that since unemployment fell .1%, it’s time to celebrate! Don’t worry that it’s statistically insignificant, what really matters is that Obama with all of his pro-growth policies has driven unemployment below 9%. That’s a feat that every President should want on their resume!
