Who do you serve when you go to war

Patriotism Hijacked
Howard Zinn (1922-2010)

Most normal people want to contribute and give back.

Some people take it to an extreme and are willing to risk their lives.

These are noble impulses.

The problem is not thinking the whole proposition through.

Are you really “serving your country” by going where the devils in Washington send you to?

The greatest shame in America is that many of the nation’s most honorable, hard working, courageous people are serving the government instead of the nation’s highest principles.

There is s world of difference as Howard Zinn makes so eloquently clear in this short clip.

Spending Insanely While the Economy Collapses

"When you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice—you may know that your society is doomed."

America is a sovereign nation, a constitutional Republic that will celebrate the 235th anniversary of its declaration of independence in 1776 and the 223rd anniversary of its Constitution which became effective when the State of New Hampshire became the ninth State to ratify it in 1788.

By most indications it is a nation in its death throes. Its original values and virtues are being jettisoned and that is always a sign of internal rot. The passage of a law legalizing gay, same-sex marriage in New York State is just one example. It becomes the sixth State to do so.

Families are regarded as the keystone to a healthy society. When they begin to disintegrate or are redefined as same-sex, most observers conclude that a range of social problems will ensue.

Texans to Launch ‘Citizen Filibuster’ Over TSA Groping

"Campaign seeks to pressure public servants into following will of the people"

Texans outraged by repeated attempts on behalf of state representatives working in consort with the federal government to kill legislation that would ban invasive TSA groping are set to launch a ‘citizen filibuster’ that seeks to pressure public servants into following the will of the people.

Despite the fact that the anti-groping legislation in Texas passed the House unanimously last month and also looked set to sail through the Senate, repeated dirty tricks by the likes of Speaker Joe Straus and Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst have sabotaged a bill that merely seeks to reinforce laws already codified in the Fourth Amendment.

With lawmakers going AWOL for a vote on the legislation Friday, we have now learned that a hearing by the Texas House State Affairs Committee scheduled to take place today has been cancelled and the bill is all but dead. The legislation is likely to be replaced with a toothless Joint House Resolution that does little to address the epidemic of TSA abuse, most recently characterized by an incident in which TSA goons forced a 95-year-old sick woman to remove an adult diaper for screening, and merely recommends that Congress pick up the baton.  Read More

Composing Your Alt-Market Resume

"What items or goods can you provide for others that they will need in a poor economic environment?"

In today’s backwards business world, it is not uncommon to find that the people who are most willing to misrepresent themselves are the people who find the greatest success. Honesty, integrity, and honor, are not exactly respected qualities in a land of cutthroats and thieves. The time of the corporate pirate and the middle-management turncoat, however, is soon coming to an end. In the future, it will be our sincerity, and our tangible ability, that will allow us to make our way in life. No longer will the ass kissers of the world have the upper hand. There will be no “ladder” to climb. Our personal progress will be determined by our steady will and the level of effort we wish to put forth, NOT by the “insiders” we happen to know. It will be a far different atmosphere than we have been conditioned to expect…

Those who are able to cast off the old and outdated method of business will do well. Those who are able to adapt to a destabilized economic environment and focus on necessities rather than extravagances will survive. Others likely will not. The leaders of the current business system will no doubt find themselves paupers in an Alternative Economy in which their limited skill set is rendered obsolete.  Read More
