On Restoring American Individualism

March 31, 2011
American Thinker
By Daren Jonescu

Much of the political crisis facing America today stems from a disintegration of the ethical basis of the free society. That is why the core of the 2012 election fight is not tax rates, job growth, or the national debt. These issues, though of enormous practical importance, are merely the policy manifestations of underlying moral sentiments. The fundamental battle to be waged concerns nothing less than the nature of man, and the moral implications of that nature. If public disapproval of particular Obama policies is to become a lasting movement toward societal renewal, then the conservative's primary objective must be the restoration of American individualism.

The problem is that the warm quilt of entitlement and dependency which the left has so cozily tucked around American society not only restricts freedom of movement; it also effectively reinforces the anti-individualist morality that makes the left's advances possible. In the doublethink names of "fairness" and "security," soft despotism of the modern leftist sort produces a siren-song promise of carefree mother's love forever -- with its corresponding appeal to a toddler's moral myopia, the inability to concretize and respect the wishes and wills of other people. Thus, creeping socialism ushers in a hitherto unknown ethic, which we might dub "collectivist self-absorption."

"We Are the World" and "We are the 99 percent" are both products of this ethic, expressed as, respectively, self-aggrandizing "brotherly love" and self-aggrandizing slothful covetousness. In both cases, the heart of the message is, "We are one; give us what we want." This sensibility is the very meaning of the "entitlement mentality" with which the left seeks to charm America into moral and intellectual submission. The constitutionalist is therefore saddled with the thankless task of serving up the repeated splashes of cold water that might prevent the cozily blanketed moral invalid from drifting into the long, nightmarish sleep of collectivist authoritarianism. Not-So-Smooth Operator: Obama increasingly comes across as devious and dishonest.

March 30, 2012
WSJ.com
By Peggy Noonan

Something's happening to President Obama's relationship with those who are inclined not to like his policies. They are now inclined not to like him. His supporters would say, "Nothing new there," but actually I think there is. I'm referring to the broad, stable, nonradical, non-birther right. Among them the level of dislike for the president has ratcheted up sharply the past few months.

It's not due to the election, and it's not because the Republican candidates are so compelling and making such brilliant cases against him. That, actually, isn't happening.

What is happening is that the president is coming across more and more as a trimmer, as an operator who's not operating in good faith. This is hardening positions and leading to increased political bitterness. And it's his fault, too. As an increase in polarization is a bad thing, it's a big fault.

The shift started on Jan. 20, with the mandate that agencies of the Catholic Church would have to provide services the church finds morally repugnant. The public reaction? "You're kidding me. That's not just bad judgment and a lack of civic tact, it's not even constitutional!" Faced with the blowback, the president offered a so-called accommodation that even its supporters recognized as devious. Not ill-advised, devious. Then his operatives flooded the airwaves with dishonest—not wrongheaded, dishonest—charges that those who defend the church's religious liberties are trying to take away your contraceptives.

What a sour taste this all left. How shocking it was, including for those in the church who'd been in touch with the administration and were murmuring about having been misled.

Events of just the past 10 days have contributed to the shift. There was the open-mic conversation with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev in which Mr. Obama pleaded for "space" and said he will have "more flexibility" in his negotiations once the election is over and those pesky voters have done their thing. On tape it looked so bush-league, so faux-sophisticated. When he knew he'd been caught, the president tried to laugh it off by comically covering a mic in a following meeting. It was all so . . . creepy. Read More

Why You Should Avoid Fast Food At All Costs

March 29, 2012
Alt-Market.com

This article was written by Mike Barrett and originally published at Natural Society

It is no secret that the average American diet is in completely in the slumps. Consuming packaged foods, fast food, artificially enhanced products, and especially low quality cheap food is the norm, but is it any wonder that being overweight while also falling victim to a host of illnesses is also the norm. Being raised in this era of poor health makes it difficult to know what is truly healthy and unhealthy. Food has drastically changed since decades ago, and so parents often aren’t aware of the severe decline in food quality. Fast food in particular is one of the primary reasons for the drastic health decline seen today. Read More

President Put-Down

March 28, 2012
By Ed Lasky
American Thinker.com

Barack Obama has had one passion that has been consistent over the years: himself. His healthy self-regard is well-known by now. From the omnipresent posters of his jutting face to the spectacle of the Democratic National Convention with Styrofoam Greek columns to the disgraceful alteration of the official presidential seal during the 2008 campaign to his constant presence on our airwaves (Really, do we care about his sports commentary? Or his brackets in the NCAA tournaments?), we know that this is a man with a hunger for the spotlight.

But Obama's ego needs more than the worship of others. His ego also needs the boost that comes from insulting and denigrating others and rubbing in their faces how well he has fared compared to them. The latest example is culled from the upcoming hagiography of him from the writer David Maraniss: Read More

Ben Bernanke...Do You Trust This Man With Your Future?

March 25, 2012
Alt-Market.com

This article was written by Mac Slavo and originally published at SHTFplan.com

Despite every critical forecast he made resulting in the exact opposite of what he predicted, the mainstream media, government officials and financial institutions continue to trust him to inform us of the state of our economy, our country’s fiscal health, and the stability of our monetary system (all of which are doing just fine, by the way).

The Great Forecasts Gone Wrong, By Ben Bernanke (Via The Daily Crux):

Mr. Bernanke maintains that inflation is under control, the Fed’s loose monetary policy was not responsible for the housing bubble (or any historical price bubbles, for that matter), and full recovery is dead ahead.

Nevermind that 11 of 13 leading economic indicators have missed consensus estimates, home sales are trending down again, food stamp participation is rising, alternative unemployment statistics are above 20%, gas prices are about to break new records, and our national debt is up over 50% since President Obama came into office.

There is absolutely nothing to worry about here.

Ben Bernanke, Tim Geithner, and President Obama have everything under control.

What Kind Of Power Should Government Have Over Your Life?

March 25, 2012

By Brandon Smith
Alt-Market.com
3-21-12

The concept of government power is a strange and complex cipher. The existence of governments has always been predicated on assumptions of necessity, but few societies have ever truly considered what those necessities might be. What is government actually good for? What do they do that is so important? And, what happens when a government fails in the roles and duties that a culture deems vital? We tend to view government as an inevitability of life, but the fact is, government is NOT a force of nature, it is a creation of man, and it can be dismantled by men just as easily as it can be established.

In America, many people see government as an extension of the Republic, or even the source, and an animal that feeds at the behest of the common citizen. An often heard argument against the idea of drastic change or even rebellion within the establishment system is the assertion that the government “is us”. That it is made of Americans, by Americans, and for Americans. That there is no separation between the public, and the base of power. This is, of course, a childish and fantastical delusion drawn from a complete lack of understanding as to how our system really operates today. How many people out there who make this argument really believe at their very core that they have any legitimate influence over the actions of the state? I wager not many…

At bottom, to cling to the lie that the government as it stands is a construct of the people is an act of pure denial designed to help the lost masses cope with underlying feelings of utter powerlessness. Read More

Top 5 Places NOT To Be When The Dollar Collapses

March 24, 2012
Alt-Market.com

The dollar collapse will be the single largest event in human history. This will be the first event that will touch every single living person in the world. All human activity is controlled by money. Our wealth, our work, our food, our government, even our relationships are affected by money. No money in human history has had as much reach in both breadth and depth as the dollar. It is the de facto world currency. All other currency collapses will pale in comparison to this big one. All other currency crises have been regional and there were other currencies for people to grasp on to. This collapse will be global and it will bring down not only the dollar but all other fiat currencies, as they are fundamentally no different. The collapse of currencies will lead to the collapse of ALL paper assets. The repercussions to this will have incredible results worldwide. Read More

Court-Martial Obama for High Treason

March 20, 2012
Eliana Benador, Right Side News

This is the most heart-wrenching article I am writing so far, and although I have enormous research done for it, I am going to write from my heart and from my soul, trying to remind my readers, those American patriots that still do not want to understand that reality is hitting us with a perversity and cruelty that we never imagined, and that unless you actually understand that immediate action is needed and expected from all of you, this period in the life of our country, will be nothing compared to what is in store for us, unless we at least try to stir our fate back to the path where Exceptional America was heading before the tide came taking us with those whose target is hell.

If you go anywhere in the United States to visit a city for the first time and you ask for directions to go somewhere, it’s difficult to find any “locals” who actually know where is the next pharmacy or grocery store, even if it may be around their corner. Most likely, you will find that people don’t even care if you are getting closer or further from your destination. That’s called indifference. And, in the America we knew, that was unacceptable. That cannot continue. We must re-learn to care. We must re-learn to live.

The same lack of interest and carelessness, has been evident to elect our presidents, because whether it has been the Bush or the Obama election, little did Americans want to know about these men. And, we are seeing the results. Read More

Obama Executive Order Paves the Way for Nationalization of Economy

March 19, 2012
Inforwars.com

The Obama administration’s move to update an executive order to allow the government to seize control of virtually every aspect of society in both emergency and non-emergency situations lays the groundwork for the future nationalization of the U.S. economy.

Entitled “National Defense Resources Preparedness,” Obama signed the executive order late Friday afternoon. Such timing is normally a deliberate ploy to prevent a controversial issue from being picked up by the news cycle. Recall that Obama signed the highly contentious National Defense Authorization Act on New Year’s Eve.

Agricultural Terrorism

Personal Liberty Digest

Monsanto should be named an enemy of the State. It’s definitely an enemy of the people. Instead, the company has essentially become another branch of government.

Monsanto is engaged in government-sponsored agricultural terrorism. It’s government-sponsored because there is a revolving door between the company, the Food and Drug Administration, the Environmental Protection Agency and firms that lobby Congress on Monsanto’s behalf. Dow, Bayer, other chemical companies and Big Agriculture are Monsanto’s co-conspirators in agricultural terrorism.

In addition to contaminating our food supply with pesticides, hormones and genetic modifications, water supplies are being contaminated as well — even for those who live in the city far away from farmland. And anyone trying to grow crops uncontaminated by Monsanto’s genetically engineered (GE) frankenseeds can be slapped with a lawsuit if the prevailing winds or pollinating insects cause pollen from Monsanto-patented crops to mingle with non-Monsanto GE crops. Is the CBO Engaged in Partisan Manipulation of Data?

ACGR's "News with Attitude"

Economist Lan T. Pham says she was fired from the Congressional Budget Office for “producing work at odds with Wall Street research favored by her supervisors,” reports the Wall Street Journal.

In a letter written to Sen. Charles Grassley, Ms. Pham says that the CBO, which is supposed to be a nonpartisan and objective institution, consistently pressured her to suppress certain information that might be disadvantageous to the Obama Administration and its fundraising allies on Wall Street.

“I was repeatedly pressured by the CBO Assistant Director, Deborah Lucas, in charge of the Financial Analysis Division to not write nor discuss issues in the banking sector and mortgage markets that might suggest weakness in these sectors and their consequences on the economy and households.”

Specifically, Ms. Pham says that the CBO gave her and others explicit instructions as to what they could and could not report on to keep the Obama Administration in the most favorable economic light: Read More

The 'Inevitability' Vote

By Thomas Sowell
Jewish World Review.com

Many people may be voting for Mitt Romney because of the view in some quarters that he is the inevitable Republican candidate for President of the United States and the candidate with the best chance of beating Barack Obama, rather than because they actually prefer Romney to the other candidates.

Inevitability has a very unreliable track record. Within living memory, totalitarianism was considered to be "the wave of the future." During the primary season, people should vote for whomever they prefer, on their own merits, not because pundits have pronounced them inevitable.

Regardless of what the polls or the pundits say about Mitt Romney's chances of winning the Republican nomination, the conditions that made him the front runner in the primaries are the direct opposite of the conditions for the general election. Read More

Say good-bye to privacy thanks to Stellar Wind

March 18, 2011
By Hugh de Payns
American Thinker.com

The American republic, or any society so desiring emancipation to have its citizens live free and unfettered lives, must allow liberated and confidential communication.

Liberty and human dignity demand nothing less.

All of this is about to change.

With the construction of a new National Security Agency eavesdropping, data collection, and analysis facility in Utah, a program called Stellar Wind is now fully underway. This program now means, very simply, that secure and private communication now seems rather irrelevant. Liz Klimas of The Blaze:

NSA made an enormous breakthrough several years ago in its ability to cryptanalyze, or break, unfathomably complex encryption systems employed by not only governments around the world but also many average computer users in the US. The upshot, according to this official: "Everybody's a target; everybody with communication is a target.: ... Stellar Wind was far larger than has been publicly disclosed and included not just eavesdropping on domestic phone calls but the inspection of domestic email.

Apparently everything is now subject to scrutiny and analysis and everyone now is a potential security threat. This is especially alarming because citizens who should raise no interest for law enforcement and national security agencies, will now be subject to warrantless and unjustified scrutiny and investigation.

Anonymity, and the safety it can bring to both author and reader alike, seems to have been destroyed.

Readers of American Thinker, each of us, can now properly ask ourselves a question: is our continued deliberation regarding the health of our nation and any other political discourse now putting our ourselves and loved ones at risk? Will simply reading American Thinker, the Weekly Standard, National Review, or for that matter, Mother Jones be regarded as subversive and threatening to the powers that control our government?

Lost Principles And Social Destruction

"From Plato’s “noble lie”, to Machiavelli’s politics of subversion, to the Marquis De Sade’s insane fantasy world without self limit; such men and those who adopt their ideals have proven that intellect alone is no magic ticket to a well balanced society. “...we are here dealing with a totalitarian state of which the philosophy included an utter contempt for the individual... any freedom of thought or action was inconceivable in the Aztec world... dependence and instability were absolute, fear reigned. Death lurked ceaselessly everywhere, and constituted the cement of the building in which the individual Aztec was prisoner... Clearly the spirituality of some aspects of Aztec life must have sprung from an old pre-Aztec tradition, later betrayed...”

Laurette Sejourne (‘Burning Water’)

The life of a nation, of a culture, is sustained by very few but very critical social circumstances. These pillars must stand strong, maintained with the utmost care and caution; as one would fight to maintain the beat of his own heart. If these vital foundations are dissolved or destroyed, the nation and the people contained within are subject to the most heinous of generational afflictions. The citizenry and all that nurtures their progress, begins to die. Slowly suffocating in a corrosive atmosphere of dishonor, men turn toward pure self interest at the expense of their greater selves, giving rise to hatred, desperation, and an environment of disturbed malleability that is easily exploited by those who seek power.

Eventually, the entire edifice comes crashing down, sometimes so far into the pits of black and terrible times that it is all but lost, even to memory…

As I look out past the near horizon of this time, and this nation, I see considerable potential for a revitalization of that which is best in humanity. I see a population that strives for independence. I see a return to the entrepreneurial spirit of discovery. I see unhindered freedom of thought and action feeding a fire of creativity that inspires us to unimaginable heights. I see new expression given license not just by the masses, but by structures of a government which truly follows the will of the common man, and not the will of an elite few. I see America breathing full, eyes wide open and alive.

However, this potential future would have to come at a considerable cost.

America has so strayed from its founding roots that it now hungers; starving for lack of nutrients from its natural soil. As with all other catastrophic societies of the past, we have been manipulated and conned into overlooking and over-rationalizing astonishing injustice and in some cases, unmitigated evil. I frankly don’t know what else to call it. There are some acts of malevolence that go beyond human weakness and inadequacy and reach into realms of calculation that are so cold, so soulless, there is simply no other way to describe them. These actions and attitudes tend to run rampant in dying nations but are rarely singled out and criticized by those in the midst of the great fall. Each begins with the loss of particular principles and inherent morals that are normally prized under more healthy circumstances, but are despised in times of chaos and uncertainty.

This begins with the rise of moral relativism. Read More

The Big Hoax...joint crusade of the DOE and the DOJ

March 14, 2012

There have been many frauds of historic proportions -- for example, the financial pyramid scheme for which Charles Ponzi was sent to prison in the 1920s, and for which Franklin D. Roosevelt was praised in the 1930s, when he called it Social Security. In our own times, Bernie Madoff's hoax has made headlines.

But the biggest hoax of the past two generations is still going strong -- namely, the hoax that statistical differences in outcomes for different groups are due to the way other people treat those groups.

The latest example of this hoax is the joint crusade of the Department of Education and the Department of Justice against schools that discipline black males more often than other students. According to Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, this disparity in punishment violates the "promise" of "equity." Read More

The 'Fairness' Fraud

March 10, 2012
By Thomas Sowell
2/22/12

During a recent Fox News Channel debate about the Obama administration's tax policies, Democrat Bob Beckel raised the issue of "fairness."

He pointed out that a child born to a poor woman in the Bronx enters the world with far worse prospects than a child born to an affluent couple in Connecticut.

No one can deny that. The relevant question, however, is: How does allowing politicians to take more money in taxes from successful people, to squander in ways that will improve their own reelection prospects, make anything more "fair" for others?

Even if additional tax revenue all went to poor single mothers — which it will not — the multiple problems of children raised by poor single mothers would not be cured by throwing money at them. Indeed, the skyrocketing of unwed motherhood began when government welfare programs began throwing money at teenage girls who got pregnant.

Children born and raised without fathers are a major problem to society and to themselves. There is nothing "fair" about increasing the number of such children.

A more fundamental problem with the "fairness" issue raised by Beckel and many others is the slippery vagueness of the word "fair." Read More

As Dr. Melissa Clouthier explains on twitter, the idea of Critical Race Theory means “Merit-based is wrong. Color-blind is wrong. (Non-white) Racial supremacy is right.”

And this radical view is what Barack Obama decided to take a stand for at Harvard. Wow.

Obama's Political Expediency Is Hurting Our Nation

March 9, 2012
By Lauri B. Regan
American Thinker.com

As a candidate, Barack Obama's devious political machinations were one of his many character flaws available for public scrutiny yet continuously ignored. For instance, he spoke at the AIPAC Policy Conference in 2008 at which he promised the over 10,000 Jewish attendees and the Jewish people who were listening in across the world that "Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel and it must remain undivided." The next day, in response to Muslim outrage, he completely changed his tune, explaining that the word "undivided" was "poorly chosen." One would expect when it comes to a speech from the man who understands that his words lead to "folks faint[ing] all the time at [his] events," that man would choose those words wisely, but Obama the neophyte was given a pass.

Yet Obama, having been well-trained in oratory and community organizing, was no neophyte. That is why, while still a candidate, he found himself throwing long-term friends and advisors under the bus in order to ensure that his public persona would lead to the highest office in the land despite the fact that his personal story, which he would ensure be kept under wraps, was something quite inapposite. In just two days, we have learned from Breitbart.com that in addition to the videotape of Obama at the Rashid Khalidi dinner party that the L.A. Times refuses to release, there are at least two other videotapes that are either still being hidden or were hidden from the public by Obama's supporters and allies. The director of a play entitled The Love Song of Saul Alinsky, Pam Dickler, is reportedly sitting on a video of that play that was not only attended by Obama, but followed by his participation on stage in a panel discussion with fellow radicals. And thanks to Breitbart, we are now privy to a videotape of Obama speaking at a rally praising friend and professor Derrick Bell, known for his extremist academic advocacy of critical race theory. That video was proudly and admittedly hidden during the 2008 election by Obama campaign associate and Harvard Law School professor Charles Ogletree.

Pentagon Launches Desperate Damage Control Over Shocking Panetta Testimony

The Pentagon is engaging in damage control after shocking testimony yesterday by Defense Secretary Leon Panetta at a Senate Armed Services Committee congressional hearing during which it was confirmed that the U.S. government is now completely beholden to international power structures and that the legislative branch is a worthless relic.

During the hearing yesterday Panetta and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. How To Become An American Extremist In Style!

For most of us in America today, childhood was a time of vast and unassailable dreams. What we could become, what the world could become, was limited only by the strength of spirit setting aloft our ideas, and this strength, as all young people instinctively know, is infinite. While the possibilities of the future seemed boundless, few of us, including myself, ever considered “political extremism” as a viable lifestyle decision. Astronaut? Maybe. Filmmaker? Sure. Enemy Belligerent? Not so much…

While each of us is ultimately a product of our own decisions and internal choices, even beyond the influences of our environment, the cultural atmosphere of our age certainly determines the manner in which we are able to express our individual character. The brilliant and talented are sometimes cast into roles of poverty and obscurity. The obscene and devious often ascend to positions of righteous reverence. Good men are often painted as villains for centuries, while evil men are regarded as saints for just as long. The point is, the times in which we live rarely express in an honest way who we really are, unless, of course, we take hold of them tight, and cut out a new path for history to travel… Read More

The Obama Administration Plays Legal Semantics To Defend Assassination Program

March 7, 2012
By Brandon Smith

Is anyone else besides me bored to tears over the constant barrage of legalese used by this president and past presidents to rationalize actions that even a four-year-old knows are inherently immoral? Does the Obama Administration really believe that Americans are going to accept the half-assed musings of a political parasite like "fast and furious" Eric Holder as a viable explanation for unlimited federal assassination powers? I'll say this yet again; Constitutional boundaries are NOT up for free interpretation by the president or any other branch of government. Civil Liberties are NOT open for "realignment" under national security protocols. They are IMMUTABLE. They exist beyond government. Government is secondary to our rights as American citizens. Period. All legislation or executive decisions outside of this foundational guideline are paramount to treason, and must-be-crushed.

‘Mancow’ Muller: Breitbart Was Murdered

Chicago radio host says Breitbart’s death was a warning shot and that others are in danger

Contrary to today’s release of edited and seemingly innocuous footage that shows Barack Obama making a speech at Harvard in 1991 and has already been in the public domain for years, Chicago radio host Erich “Mancow” Muller told the Alex Jones Show today that his friend Andrew Breitbart had in fact planned to release information that would “destroy Barack Obama” on March 1st, hours after his untimely death.

Muller said he was speaking with Breitbart “every other day” about a TV show he had lined up on a major network on which Breitbart would make regular appearances in a segment called “Breitbart predicts”.

“The house of cards is coming down, I have information that will destroy Barack Obama, it’s over,” Muller says Breitbart told him, and that the information would be released March 1st.
“Everybody feels the same way, that this guy was murdered,” said Muller, who attended Breitbart’s funeral yesterday. Muller pointed to the fact that Breitbart’s death was explained as “natural causes” by the media within hours before any kind of cursory investigation had been conducted.

“The guy goes for a walk in the middle of the night, he’s about to launch a big website, he’s about to bring down the house of Obama, and he’s dead,” said Muller. Read More

Barack Obama held a news conference yesterday to counterprogram against the GOP's Super Tuesday contest. It was one of his rare news conferences of late, as he has avoided them and preferred using direct means to communicate with his fans if not the rest of the American people. At one point, Obama dismissed criticism of his rather feckless approach towards Iran by maligning Republicans. According to Obama, there is still " a window of opportunity where this can still be solved diplomatically" and when Republicans attack him for being too weak, that's only because they "don't understand the gravity of war."

Really, Mr. President? Really?

Senator John McCain, who has been a hawk regarding Libya, Syria and has been a leading force in trying to compel Iran to give up its nuclear weapons program, was a Vietnam prisoner of war who was tortured during his years of captivity and still cannot lift up his arms over his head because of his life-long injuries. His father was a legendary Admiral, and his North Vietnamese captors offered to release him as a public relations move. He refused because he felt the honorable path to follow was to stay with his men, thereby subjecting himself to more torture.

Senator Mark Kirk, who has led the way in trying sanctions to force Iran to give up its nuclear program (his latest effort was the Kirk-Menendez amendment to the military authorization bill that would have allowed the President to sanction companies doing business with Iran's Central Bank), volunteered to join the Navy and has been an intelligence officer since 1989. He was recalled to active duty in Operation Allied Force to help in the bombing of Yugoslavia. He also flew numerous times over Iraq as part of Operation Northern Watch. He has also served in multiple deployments in Afghanistan, with his latest concluding just a few months ago. He has been in the forefront, both as a Congressman and as a Senator, in seeking to tighten the screws on Iran -- efforts that have apparently "earned" him multiple snubs from the Commander-in-Chief.

I think both of these men quite well understand the gravity of war far more seriously than a man who served at Occidental College, Columbia University and then Harvard Law (and associated with left-wing ideologues all his adult life, as opposed to having friendships with men and women who put their lives on the line for their nation).

Barack Obama has such respect for the military that he does not know how to pronounced "corpsman" (the teleprompter programmers must have forgotten to phonetically print this word), gets the name of a Medal of Honor recipient wrong and confuses him with a dead man and decided (yet again) to play golf on Memorial Day -- the holiday that honors our men and women of the military who have fallen . He seems to have a serial problem with appreciating or even understanding Memorial Day. For example, in 2008, he gave a campaign speech in New Mexico on Memorial Day and had this to say: Read More

The Five Principles Of Preparedness

March 6, 2012
By Phil Burns

Principle 1: Practice Thrift And Frugality
Principle 2: Seek To Be Independent
Principle 3: Become Industrious
Principle 4: Strive Towards Self Reliance
Principle 5: Aspire To Have A Year's Supply Of Every Needful Thing

"The most common effect of living an abundant life, as many of us do, is complacency. As we progress and develop disposable income the complacent tendency is to adjust our standard of living upwards by purchasing a bigger house, a new vehicle, a boat or other recreational toys instead of investing that money to insure the standard of living that we previously grew accustomed to. It is most prudent to instead, in times of largess, not expand your standard of living right away but to choose to ensure that if the current boon withdraws the family is not affected by it. Complacency however, leads us down the path of seeing increased income to the home as play, expendable, or rewarding money – all of which it can be with the proper perspective. That perspective is to view this blessing as an opportunity to ‘play’ at increasing our stores as much as possible, to purchase as many ‘expendable’ goods as possible – that can go into storage, or to ‘reward’ ourselves by adding a more expensive item to our storage that will significantly increase the amount of coverage our Standard of Living Insurance provides us. It also gives us the opportunity to scrutinize our funds and storage to determine if the family can splurge a little and enjoy some recreational time without it impacting the bottom line of our Standard of Living – but adamantly without changing our cost of living.

Following the Principles of Preparedness allows heads of households to reduce stress, find peace and be comfortable in an ever-changing and tumultuous world." Read More

THE VETTING, PART I: BARACK'S LOVE SONG TO ALINSKY

March 5, 2012
Big Government.com

Prior to his passing, Andrew Breitbart said that the mission of the Breitbart empire was to exemplify the free and fearless press that our Constitution protects--but which, increasingly, the mainstream media denies us.

“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?” – “Who guards the guardians?” Andrew saw himself in that role—as a guardian protecting Americans from the left’s “objective” loyal scribes.

Andrew wanted to do what the mainstream media would not. First and foremost: Andrew pledged to vet President Barack H. Obama.

Andrew did not want to re-litigate the 2008 election. Nor did he want to let Republicans off the hook. Instead, he wanted to show that the media had failed in its most basic duty: to uncover the truth, and hold those in power accountable, regardless of party.

From today through Election Day, November 6, 2012, we will vet this president--and his rivals.

We begin with a column Andrew wrote last week in preparation for today’s Big relaunch--a story that should swing the first hammer against the glass wall the mainstream media has built around Barack Obama.

Americans Will Need “Black Markets” To Survive

March 2, 2012
By Brandon Smith

As Americans, we live in two worlds; the world of mainstream fantasy, and the world of day-to-day reality right outside our front doors. One disappears the moment we shut off our television. The other, does not.

When dealing with the economy, it is the foundation blocks that remain when the proverbial house of cards flutters away in the wind, and these basic roots are what we should be most concerned about. While much of what we see in terms of economic news is awash in a sticky gray cloud of disinformation and uneducated opinion, there are still certain constants that we can always rely on to give us a sense of our general financial environment. Two of these constants are supply and demand. Central banks like the private Federal Reserve may have the ability to flood markets with fiat liquidity to skew indexes and stocks, and our government certainly has the ability to interpret employment numbers in such a way as to paint the rosiest picture possible, but ultimately, these entities cannot artificially manipulate the public into a state of demand when they are, for all intents and purposes, dead broke.

In contrast, the establishment does have the ability to make specific demands or necessities illegal to possess, and can even attempt to restrict their supply. Though, in most cases this leads not to the control they seek, but a sudden and sharp loss of regulation through the growth of covert trade. The people need what the people need, and no government, no matter how titanic, can stop them from getting these commodities when demand is strong enough.

This process of removing necessary or desirable items from a trade environment leads inevitably to counter-prohibition often in the form of strict cash transactions, barter markets, or “black markets” as they are normally derided by those in power. The problem for economic totalitarians is that the harder they squeeze the masses, the more intricate the rebellion becomes, especially when all they want is to participate in free markets the way our forefathers intended. Federal Reserve Banker Fraud Exposed In The Mainstream

March 2, 2012

It is a rare occasion indeed when the Federal Reserve is brought to task on a mainstream media outlet, but every once in a while, the veil is lifted and the McDonalds munching celebrity obsessed portion of the American public actually catches a glimpse of the truth.  The independent media has a weakness, and that weakness is the slow process we have to endure to get exposure in venues and subsections of the citizenry that ARE NOT looking for a reality check.  For these people, it is necessary to push certain subject matter into the MSM in any way that we are able.  Here is one of those seldom seen instances.

Sheriff Arpaio's Posse Surprise

The Tea Party members of Surprise, Arizona, were likely not surprised to learn that even America's Toughest Sheriff cannot fully break the shroud of secrecy and mystery surrounding Obama's long-form birth certificate. However, yesterday, Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio proved once again that he didn't earn the moniker without reason.

As promised, Sheriff Arpaio held a press conference in Phoenix to announce the findings of his "Cold Case Posse." Organized last September at the request of the Surprise Tea Party members, the posse was assigned the primary task of verifying the authenticity of the copy of Obama's birth certificate released by the White House on April 27, 2011.

The stunning conclusion of the posse thus far: The document released by the White House is suspected to be a forgery, as is Obama's Selective Service card.

While not accusing Obama of any crime or wrongdoing, the posse revealed they have "probable cause" to believe that felonies have been committed -- fraud and forgery -- and asserted that those responsible should be brought to justice.

Headed by Michael Zullo, a retired police detective, and rounded out with two former law enforcement officers and two retired attorneys, the posse's work was entirely voluntary and operated at no cost to Maricopa County taxpayers.

At the press conference, Zullo explained that the posse examined numerous documents, interviewed many witnesses and experts, and obtained several sworn statements as part of its investigation. Zullo also presented a series of videos that explained and demonstrated in detail the key reasons for the posse's conclusions. In addition, Zullo revealed that his group has identified a "person of interest" in the alleged forgery. The posse did not, however, address the related question of Obama's eligibility as a "natural born" citizen under Article II of the Constitution.

Andrew Breitbart...A Hero Passes

A Hero Passes

he bitterness of Andrew Breitbart's premature departure may be tempered if his courage inspires conservatives to press the case that President Obama's life story, as accepted by the media and McCain campaign in 2008, contains a series of discrepancies, frauds, and lies-by-omission. Americans have been had by a manufactured biography that does not bear close examination. Breitbart knew it, talked about it, and was the foremost public advocate of re-vetting the candidate who escaped serious scrutiny in 2008.

The overwhelming consensus of the GOP establishment is that Americans like Barack Obama. There is no profit in attacking him personally. Shut up about all the disturbing signs that he was groomed by a series of troubling mentors, centered his adult life on the Alinsky Left in Chicago, and had his career managed by ruthless pros who saw the electoral potential of an "clean, articulate black guy" with Ivy credentials, a slim build, and a terrific smile.

A substantial portion of the GOP base is with Breitbart faction of Obama skeptics. They are tarred with the label "birthers" even if their skepticism is limited to Bill Ayers' role in authoring Dreams from My Father or the troubling anomaly of Obama's Social Security number. The vehemence of the media left in slurring anyone who questions any aspect of Obama's legend is evidence of the underlying fear of exposure. After all, their current strategy is to distract the electorate from Obama's failures by manufacturing from whole cloth a phony notion that the GOP wants to deny women access to contraception and health care. Skeptical inquiry of any sort is anathema to this crowd. After all, skepticism is contagious in a time of disillusionment.

One less visible aspect of Andrew Breitbart's work was his important role as a networker on the right. I am one of many people Andrew reached out to over the years, emailing, having serious, long conversations on the phone, analyzing, strategizing, collaborating, advising, and networking. Andrew loved putting like-minded people together. He loved the Big Picture -- what he called the institutional left, and its takeover of American culture. He knew that unless we take back the culture, politically we are doomed. Read More
