Florida Federal Judge Rules ‘Entire’ Health Care Law Unconstitutional

Posted on January 31, 2011

A federal judge in Florida has ruled that the president’s health care overhaul, “Obamacare,” is unconstitutional. The judge based his ruling on the law’s mandate that citizens must purchase health care, a requirement he said violates the Constitution. The ruling affects the 26 states who had joined together to file a case against the law, yet still has implications for the entire country.

U.S. District Judge Roger Vinson ruled Congress overstepped its bounds by instituting the individual mandate, but also said the entire law was unconstitutional since the individual mandate is not “severable,” Fox News reports. Vinson did not go as far as to issue an injunction blocking the law from being implemented.

“I must reluctantly conclude that Congress exceeded the bounds of its authority in passing the Act with the individual mandate. That is not to say, of course, that Congress is without power to address the problems and inequities in our health care system. The health care market is more than one sixth of the national economy, and without doubt Congress has the power to reform and regulate this market. That has not been disputed in this case. The principal dispute has been about how Congress chose to exercise that power here,” Vinson wrote.  Read More

Watching the pot come to a boil

By whitelocust

Today’s world has troubles unique to its time in history, from the global financial crisis to technological meltdowns to full scale, computerized global war. Observing the convergence of such events, contemporary prophets have begun to emerge from obscurity to suggest that these conditions might be signs of the demise of the modern world. These men are historians as well, using all manner of information and patterns from the past to provide context for where we are going. Their predictions interpret the current state of affairs in our world as evidence that the America we know may come to an end. The men proposing these ideas are not crackpots living on the streets of New York; they are intelligent, learned men who come armed with the evidence to back up their claims.  Read More

America and the Middle East Food Riots

For the 1 billion people living on less than a dollar a day, the world’s worst food crisis in a generation is a matter of survival. Food is now considered the new gold.

January 31, 2011
By Steve McCann

Perhaps the most over used but most accurate term used to describe the policies and ideology of the American Left is the "Law of Unintended Consequences." There is virtually nothing that these people espouse that once put in place has not had detrimental effects on either the people of the United States or the world.

Today there is a global food shortage and sky-rocketing prices. This has become the underlying factor in the riots in Tunisia, Algeria and Egypt, where up to 56% of a person's income is dedicated to the acquisition of food. These riots are now leading to the upheaval of governments and the very real possibility of the ascendancy of the radical elements into control.

While bad weather in various parts of the world is an element of the accelerating food prices there are two other factors directly related to the United States and its policies.

First, because of the enormous deficts run up by Obama administration and the Democrat controlled Congress, the Federal Reserve has had to effectively print trillions of dollars which have flooded the global market. Commodities are priced in dollars, consequently emerging markets throughout the world, and the food sector in particular, are suffering from rapidly rising inflation.  Read More

Global Warming Alarmists in Retreat. Glaciers, Not So Much.

January 29, 2011 by Jimmie Bise, Jr

The Church of Global Warming has faced an uphill battle lately. The average person is not likely to accept the message that the planet is warming and that only an unprecedented shift of power and money to progressive policy makers will brings things back to normal once they’ve lived through a couple horrible winters and witnessed the massive fraud perpetrated by the climate science community. So it has come to pass that the number of Britons who believe that global warming is both real and dangerous has shrunk rapidly in the past four years.
The number of climate change sceptics has almost doubled in four years, official research showed yesterday.

A quarter of Britons are unconvinced that the world is warming following successive freezing winters and a series of scandals over the credibility of climate science.  Read More

Committee Passes Plan for Internet ‘Kill Switch’ in Egypt — U.S.

by Meredith Jessup

Pending legislation that would grant the President of the United States the power to pull the plug on the country’s internet access in a declared “emergency” returned to the forefront this week on the same day Egyptians faced a nation-wide blackout designed to curtail widespread government protests. Egypt flipped it’s so-called “kill switch” — will the U.S.?

The bipartisan bill is sponsored by Maine Sen. Susan Collins, the ranking Republican on the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. The bill — called “The Protecting Cyberspace As A National Asset Act of 2010” S.3480 — was approved by a Senate panel this week.

S. 3480 would create a new government agency called the National Center for Cybersecurity and Communications. The NCCC would have sweeping powers to control the Internet, including the ability to shut down the web for a 30-day period. Considering that at least 60% of Americans get their daily news fix from the Internet, this is a staggering proposal.  Read More

Raw Video: Military Tanks Patrol Egyptian Streets

The Blaze
Posted on January 29, 2011

After reports of widespread looting of public buildings, businesses and even peoples’ private residences, new video posted to YouTube shows Egyptian military tanks entering the city of Rihab, a city located north of Cairo:

As looters raid peoples’ homes, Al Jazeera reports that Egyptians have been left to fend for themselves as police and military officers work to control growing crowds.

As we reported Friday, looters were threatening to destroy priceless antiquities located in Cairo’s Egyptian Museum and the national army was called in to try and protect the historical artifacts. Sadly, not all were spared from the public mob:

Carter Redux?

Carter Redux?
Steve McCann

For those who lived through the 1979 Iran revolution and the abandonment of the Shah of Iran by the Carter administration, there is a tangible sense of foreboding as to what form the outcome of the current upheaval in Egypt will take.

Like Carter, Obama has made overtures to the Islamists. 1n 1978 Jimmy Carter was on the side of "human rights" and eagerly embraced Ayatollah Khomeini. Carter's UN Ambassador Andrew Young went so far as to call him "some kind of saint".

It now turns out that in 2009, the Egyptian daily Almasry Alyoum reported that President Obama secretly met with representatives of the jihadist Muslim Brotherhood, the Hamas and Al Qaeda ally that has been barred by the US and put on the terror watch list by the Bush administration. By doing so and choosing Egypt as the locale for his Muslim outreach speech, in which he never once used the words "terrorism", "terrorist" or "war on terror," the question must be asked: Did or does the Obama administration realize the difference between freedom-based revolutions (which do not include jihadist elements) and violent overthrows orchestrated by the same jihadists. Secretly meeting with the jihadist elements can only embolden them.  Read More

IMF to US: Better start taking care of business

January 29, 2011 by Ed Morrissey

You remember the IMF, right? It’s the organization that had to partner with the EU in order to rescue Greece from its massive debt and collapsing bond structure — a task accomplished with around $7 billion from the US. Now the IMF has a warning for the US as well, that our own debt is Greecing the skids to a similar but much more disastrous conclusion in the long term:

U.S. officials must act quickly to control government deficits or face slower growth and even more difficult choices in the future, the International Monetary Fund said Thursday in a report criticizing the tepid U.S. response to its rising public debt.  Read More

Specter of Currency War Rears Its Head at Davos

DAVOS, Switzerland (AP) — A fight is looming between rich and poor countries over the value of the dollar and other key currencies, as governments use monetary tricks to boost their national recovery at the expense of other nations, political and business leaders warned Saturday.

Washington has been leaning hard on Beijing to allow the Chinese renminbi to rise, saying it is being kept artificially cheap to maintain China’s cheap labor advantage.

At the same time the United States, Britain and others have encouraged their central banks to pump money into the system as a means of stimulating the economy. Read More

Obama Lectures Mubarak On Economics

Oh, Good Grief… In Phone Call Obama Lectures Mubarak On EconomicsPosted by Jim Hoft on Friday, January 28, 2011
Oh good grief.

Barack Obama tonight lectured Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak (photo) on instituting a sound economic policy.

We’ve always been clear that there must be reform: political, social, and economic reforms that meet the aspirations of the Egyptian people. In the absence of these reforms, grievances have built up over time. When President Mubarak addressed the Egyptian people tonight, he pledged a better democracy and greater economic opportunity. I just spoke to him after his speech. And I told him he has a responsibility to give meaning to those words, to take concrete steps and actions that deliver on that promise.

Ar you freaking kidding me?

How nuts was that?  Read More

Oil Rigs – and Jobs – Already Moving Out of Gulf

January 28, 2011 by Jazz Shaw

We have previously covered the disappointing response from the Obama administration in approving new drilling permits following last summer’s oil spill in the gulf, warning that such an unofficial “permitoreum” would have consequences. Among the many negative potential results would be energy companies taking their ocean-going rigs and moving them to places where they could get back to work, rather than sitting idle and costing them huge amounts of money. And when the rigs leave, the jobs leave, along with all of the associated economic stimulus to other related American businesses. Well, that didn’t take long.

Jan 27 (Reuters) – Some of the 30-plus deepwater rigs that were in the Gulf of Mexico have moved to other markets, first because of a U.S. halt called last May after BP Plc’s (BP.L: Quote) well blowout, and then because of the lack of permits once the moratorium was lifted.  Read More

Why We Must Replace the EPA

Friday, 28 January 2011: Steve Everley

Of all the government agencies that have become unnecessary barriers to job creation and economic growth, the Environmental Protection Agency is the worst offender.

Since its founding 40 years ago, the EPA has transformed from an agency with the original noble mission of protecting the environment into a job-killing, centralizing engine of ideological litigation and regulation that blocks economic progress. The EPA's current push to regulate greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, and thereby the entire American economy, is the latest and definitive proof that the EPA has gone well beyond its original mandate.

Even worse, the EPA has become the bureaucracy of choice for Presidents and ideologues to exert more control over the decision making of the private sector and local and state governments, stifling the very innovation and entrepreneurship that is necessary to achieve a cleaner environment.

USDA deregulates GE alfalfa; opens door to new era of widespread genetic pollution of crops

(NaturalNews) After months of pretending to review public feedback on the issue of GE alfalfa, the USDA has announced a surprise lifting of all restrictions on the genetically engineered crop, effectively allowing anyone to plant GE alfalfa anywhere, without any restriction. This is the USDA's surrender to Monsanto, and it signifies the beginning of a new era of widespread genetic pollution of North America's crops and ranch animals (which eat those crops).

Even though the USDA recently admitted in its Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) that GE alfalfa may pose a risk to both organic farmers and conventional farmers (http://www.centerforfoodsafety.org/...), the agency suddenly and without scientific justification decided to remove all restrictions and allow Monsanto to regulate itself!  Read More

Egypt in flames: Ruling party’s headquarters burning in Cairo after massive protests; Update: Hillary calls for restraint

January 28, 2011 by Allahpundit

Things are happening fast so let’s get a thread up.  A 6 p.m. curfew curfew has been imposed and, thus far, widely ignored. Tanks are starting to roll as I write this and there are reports on Twitter of “loud explosions” and live ammo being used in downtown Cairo. The Telegraph has a screencap from Al Jazeera showing Mubarak’s party headquarters in the city on fire; other party headquarters have been ransacked in Mansoura and Suez. The State Department says it’s deeply concerned and is calling on Mubarak to enact reforms and allow peaceful protests — although I think we’re past that point by now. Mubarak was supposed to speak at around 11 a.m. but nothing from him yet.

Sad to say, your best bet at the moment is by clicking the image below and watching the live stream from Al Jazeera English. Its agenda is no secret — Hezbollah and Hamas are particular favorites — but they’re on the top of the minute-by-minute news here like no one else. So much so, in fact, that their feed may go down at any moment: Word earlier was that Egyptian police were banging on the door of their Cairo bureau headquarters.

Stand by for updates, needless to say.  Read More

Brzezinski’s Feared “Global Awakening” Has Arrived

Monumental worldwide rallying cry for freedom threatens to derail new world order agenda

Paul Joseph Watson

Zbigniew Brzezinski’s much feared “global political awakening” is in full swing. Revolts in Egypt, Yemen, Tunisia and other countries represent a truly monumental worldwide rallying cry for freedom that threatens to immeasurably damage the agenda for one world government, but only if the successful revolutionaries can prevent themselves from being co-opted by a paranoid and desperate global elite.

During a Council on Foreign Relations speech in Montreal last year, co-founder with David Rockefeller of the Trilateral Commission and regular Bilderberg attendee Zbigniew Brzezinski warned of a “global political awakening,” mainly comprising of younger people in developing states, that threatened to topple the existing international order.  Read More

Hawaii lawmakers want release of Obama birth info

By MARK NIESSE, Associated Press Mark Niesse, Associated Press – Thu Jan 27, 4:37 pm ET

HONOLULU – Five Hawaii Democratic representatives want to pass a law making President Barack Obama's birth records public and charge $100 to see them.

The bill, introduced this week, would change a privacy law barring the release of birth records to anyone unless they have a tangible interest.

The measure hasn't been scheduled for a public hearing yet, and can't move forward until that happens.

Its primary sponsor, Rep. Rida Cabanilla, says she wants to end the controversy surrounding Obama's birth by handing over official state records to those who will pay.

She says the fee would help offset the extra work by state employees who handle frequent phone calls and e-mails from people who believe Obama wasn't born in Hawaii.

Hawaii's health director has said she's verified Obama's original records, and notices were published in two newspapers within days of his birth at a Honolulu hospital.

Rasmussen on SOTU speech: No sale

America Needs Community, Not Collectivism

By Giordano Bruno
Neithercorp Press – 1/27/2011

Tyranny thrives by feeding on human necessity. It examines what sustains us, what we hope for, what we desire, what we love, and uses those needs as leverage against us. If you want safety, they will take it away and barter it back to you at a steep price. If you want success or respect, then you must bow to the existing arbitrary pecking order and play the game nicely. If you want to raise a family, then you must accept the state as a part-time parent. If you want kinship, then you must settle for a thin veneer of empty pleasantries and insincere associations. If you want independence, then you are simply labeled as a threat and done away with altogether. Autocratic rulers are first and foremost salesmen; they convince us that life itself has a “cost”, that we are born indebted, and all bills must be made payable to the establishment. First and foremost, we are sold on the idea that in all of this, we are ultimately alone…

It is within these manipulated concepts of cost and isolation that we discover the foundation of all totalitarian cultures: Collectivism.

Collectivism is not a space age invention or a product of the abstract musings of Marxists, though many seem to think that their version of a hive society is “new” and certainly better than anything ever attempted in the past. No, collectivism is a psychological prison derived from a beneficial instinct as old as humanity itself; the instinct to connect with others, to share experiences and knowledge, to build and create together. It is an instinct as essential to our survival as breathing. Collectivism uses this instinct as a weapon. It is a corrupted and poisoned harnessing of our intuitive nature. It is an inadequate and cancerous substitute for something which normally invigorates and supports healthy culture: true community.  Read More

Obama's State of the Soviet Union

Thursday, 27 January 2011
Daniel Greenfield

When the applause had died down and the softly glowing screen of the teleprompter faded to black, the echoes of the Leninist cadences of Obama's State of the Union address, "We must out-educate, out-compete, and out-innovate the rest of the world", "We have broken the back of the recession" and "We can't win the future with a government of the past" suggest that we are now living in a land without history.

How else could Obama get up and deliver an address whose rhetoric represents a 180 degree turn, while the substance continues down the same track. The meat of the address was stolen from Clinton's 1992 campaign stump speeches on the economy. There is the same invocation of personal stories of unemployment combined with promises of replacing the old bad manufacturing jobs with free educations for everyone. But Clinton was better at pretending to be one of the boys, a working class man who only got out thanks to a good education. Obama's people must have known that dog wouldn't hunt.  Read More

Fake blueberries used in popular foods

Fox News covers fake blueberries story uncovered by Health Ranger

Thursday, January 27, 2011
by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger
Editor of NaturalNews.com

(NaturalNews) Last week we released a stunning new Food Investigations video (www.FoodInvestigations.com) showing that many of the blueberries used in popular cereals, muffins, bagels and other foods are faked. Instead of using real blueberries, companies like General Mills use artificial colors, hydrogenated oils and liquid sugars to manufacture small bits that mimic the look of blueberries.

In that story, we revealed how a General Mills' cereal known an Total Blueberry Pomegranate Cereal contains neither blueberries, nor pomegranates!

You can watch the revealing video here:
http://naturalnews.tv/v.asp?v=7EC06...

Normally, the mainstream media has zero interest in covering actual investigative stories that matter to consumers. But today, Fox News was the first media outlet to actually cover this story in a balanced article that you can read here: http://www.foxnews.com/health/2011/...

From reading the story, it is apparent that Fox News contacted General Mills and confirmed our original report, verifying that Total Blueberry Pomegranate Cereal, for example, contains absolutely no blueberries!

Our investigation also revealed how Kellogg's Frosted Mini Wheats Blueberry Muffin cereal does not contain blueberries, either. Fox News contacted Kellogg's about the matter, and they said -- get this -- that "The term 'Blueberry Muffin' is used to describe the flavor of some products. All our products are labeled in compliance with applicable laws and regulations."  Read More

Social Networking Leads To Isolation

Social networking leads to isolation, not more connections, say academics

By Ethan A. Huff, staff writer

(NaturalNews) Modern society seems convinced that social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter keep them connected and thriving socially with their friends and peers. But a new book called Alone Together by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) professor Sherry Turkle says otherwise, purporting that social networks are more like mutual isolation networks that detach people from meaningful interactions with one another and make them less human.

"A behavior that has become typical may still express the problems that once caused us to see it as pathological," says Turkle in her book, referring to the near-total obsession with the digital world in today's society. She and others say that the online social world is destroying real communication, dumbing down society, and leading to a society of people that have no idea how to actually function in the real world.

Audit reveals widespread corruption in Global Fund

By Jonathan Benson, staff writer

January 27, 2011
(NaturalNews) Investigators working on behalf of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, a United Nations (UN) alternative funding organization, have found that much of the group's $21.7 billion development fund has been lost to corruption. The celebrity-endorsed financing institution's inspector general's office found that in some countries, up to two-thirds of grant money has been misappropriated or stolen.

The office has only audited a small portion of the $10 billion that has been distributed since 2002, but what it has found thus far is shocking. In Djibouti, for instance, 30 percent of grant money could not be accounted for or was misused. Thirty-six percent of funds provided to Mali to fight tuberculosis and malaria were misspent. And an astounding 67 percent of anti-AIDS money given to Mauritania was lost to fraud.

It Was Historic: Obama Cheers Maoist Song at WH State Dinner & Praises Commie China In SOTU… All in One Week

The Obama regime has been in office only two years and already they’re playing Red Chinese anti-American commie songs at State Dinners in the White House.

The US was humiliated in eyes of Chinese by a song used to inspire anti-Americanism at the Obama State Dinner for Hu Jintao.
The American reported, via Instapundit:

During the dinner’s musical interlude and following a duet with American jazz musician Herbie Hancock, Chinese pianist Lang Lang treated the assembled dignitaries to a solo of what he described as “a Chinese song: ‘My Motherland.’”

The Chinese delegation was clearly delighted: Chinese President and Communist Party chief Hu Jintao, stone-faced for many of his other photo ops in Washington, beamed with pleasure upon hearing the melody and embraced Lang Lang at the song’s conclusion (see it on YouTube too). President Obama, for his part, amiably praised Lang Lang for his performance and described the event as “an extraordinary evening.”

CBO Predicts: 2011 Budget Deficit to Hit Record $1.5 Trillion

Posted on January 26, 2011

Washington (AP) — New budget estimates released Wednesday predict the government’s deficit will hit almost $1.5 trillion this year, a new record.

The daunting numbers mean that the government will have to borrow 40 cents for every dollar it spends.

The new Congressional Budget Office estimates will add fuel to a raging debate over cutting spending and looming legislation that’s required to allow the government to borrow more money as the national debt nears the $14.3 trillion cap set by law. Republicans controlling the House say there‘s no way they’ll raise the limit without significant cuts in spending, starting with a government funding bill that will advance next month.

The CBO analysis predicts the economy will grow by 3.1 percent this year, but that joblessness will remain above 9 percent this year. Dauntingly for President Obama, the nonpartisan agency estimates a nationwide unemployment rate of 8.2 percent on Election Day in 2012.  Read More

"President Obama’s foot remains where it has been since the day he entered the Oval Office, on the gas pedal. He’s not braking for anyone or anything. All this pre-SOTU spin from Obama’s whisperers, gobbled up by the Obama-hungry media, was always nonsense. Obama has no intention of touching entitlements in any significant way, period. Why would he tamper with the New Deal and Great Society when he considers them a good start but insufficiently bold to advance his statist beliefs? Obama has no intention of honestly working with Republicans on health care, cap-and-trade, etc. These are hallmarks of his transformative agenda. They define him and his presidency. What Obama Will Not Say at the SOTU

January 25, 2011
By John Fricke

The annual take-a-stab guessing game of what any president will say at the State of the Union address is now on. If I might, I would like to play the other side of that card. Here is what President Obama will not say in his SOTU speech.

-- That he has heard the American people clearly. That he understands the concerns about government-run health care. That he knows now that liberals forcing a government takeover of the health care system threatens serious economic problems and worse threatens individual liberties.

-- That forcibly making individuals buy a product is un-American. That all Americans do have access to health care; it's just that some cannot afford health insurance.

-- That our national debt is, in fact, a crisis and a national security issue.

-- That printing money and spending it lavishly on Democratic political interests and even on himself through parties, vacations, and golf was wrong.

-- That his party's polities overseeing Fannie and Freddie were, in fact, the core problem in the housing crisis. That government-ordered housing for all is a massive failure.

-- That government takeovers of private companies are problematic, to the tune of socialistic.  Read More

Remember that old pop standard The Candy Man, by Sammy Davis Jr.? “Who can take a sunrise, sprinkle it with dew Cover it with choc'late and a miracle or two - The Candy Man, oh the Candy Man can…”

I had completely forgotten about this song until Obama entered the political arena. Every time I hear him speak, or hear any of his sycophants speak about him, I can hear this old pop standard ringing in my head like a broken record.

Never in history has our nation been more divided, more on the brink of utter disaster, or more angry about it all. But tomorrow night, the Candy Man will take center stage at what can only be described as a state of disunion speech.
Who can take a rainbow, wrap it in a sigh

Soak it in the sun and make a groovy lemon pie

The Candy Man, the Candy Man can

The Candy Man can 'cause he mixes it with love and makes the world taste good

That great and wonderful Oz behind Obama’s teleprompter has undoubtedly worked feverishly to find the right words for the puppet-in-chief to settle the frayed nerves of congress and voters alike, despite the reality that the state of our union has never been worse.

But even for the fortunate gainfully employed among us, the economic situation is more dire than many are remotely aware.

Take your yearly pay. Subtract your local, state, and federal tax burdens. Then deduct the amount you are paying to service your personal debt, including mortgages, credit cards, business or student loans, etc.

For a lot of Americans, after such a cruel calculus, their yearly income looks a lot smaller — perhaps barely adequate — even if one is pulling down a nominally “good” salary.

But the situation is even more alarming still: for the first time, our national debt has surpassed $14 trillion — a dubious and shameful record.

Even more astonishing, the past two presidents, one from each major political party, are responsible for half of that monstrous sum. As an Associated Press story noted, about half of today’s national debt was run up in the past six years. It soared from $7.6 trillion in January 2005 as President George W. Bush began his second term to $10.6 trillion the day President Obama was inaugurated and to $14.02 trillion now.

In this era of hyper-partisanship, it is comforting to know that there is one thing both parties have agreed upon — spending the nation into insolvency. Read More

Friend says Abercrombie told him, 'There is no birth certificate!'

"In the Obama rabbit hole, things do seem to get progressively curiouser and curiouser."

During an interview on the KQRS morning radio show on January 20, Mike Evans, a long-time friend of Hawaii governor Neil Abercrombie, shared a conversation he had with the governor the day prior. The reader is advised to judge for himself the credibility of Evans' account, but he sounds convincing.

Evans, Honolulu born and now a Hollywood-based celebrity journalist, claimed that Abercrombie had promised him that he when he became governor, he planned to find absolute proof that Obama was born in Hawaii.

When Evans spoke to Abercrombie on January 19, Abercrombie reportedly told him that he searched the relevant Hawaii hospitals using his powers as governor, and concluded, according to Evans, "There is no Barack Obama birth certificate in Hawaii, absolutely no proof at all that Obama was born in Hawaii." After Abercrombie made such a fuss about finding the birth certificate, Evans concluded of his friend that he has "got some egg in the face."  Read More

Hawaii governor figures out that he’s barred by law from revealing Obama’s birth certificate

Posted at 8:40 pm on January 24, 2011 by Allahpundit

"Three theories. One: The Birthers are right and it’s all a big cover-up, and somehow someone in the White House forgot to mention to the incoming Democratic governor of Hawaii, who, by the way, has known Obama since he was an infant, “Pssst — don’t mention the birth certificate.” Seems … unlikely. Two: Abercrombie secretly hates Obama for whatever reason and concocted this whole scheme in order to make the birth certificate thing seem even more suspicious. He co-opted the conspiracy theory to serve his own ends! Crafty. But there’s … no evidence. Three: The guy’s a total moron. At this point, highly likely and plenty of evidence. That’s the one I’m going with, although I’m open to persuasion." Read More

House Republicans Already Investigating Obamacare Waiver System

Posted by Jim Hoft on Sunday, January 23, 2011

The House Energy and Commerce Committee on Thursday asked the Department of Health and Human Services to provide detailed information on the over 200 groups requesting and receiving one-year waivers from Obamacare.

In November it was first reported that the Obama Administration had handed out 111 (now over 200) Obamacare waivers to special US companies… And, they hid this information from the American public. It took 6 clicks to find out this information on the government’s health care website.

Unfortunately, if you’re a small business or you don’t have the right connections you can’t get a waiver for your company from Team Obama. The bottom line is that democrats did not create a law that benefits all of us.

House Republicans are going to investigate these Obamacare waivers.

Allegory of the Cave of the Mama Grizzly

January 23, 2011
By Clarice Feldman

It was my online friend narciso, the pen name of a brilliant commenter on the day's events, who first summed up this week's folderol over Sarah Palin. "One is struck," he noted, " by how much Plato's 'Tale of the Cave' seems to fit this paradigm ... Those that only follow the networks, or the Times or USA Today, even, are always 'unexpectedly surprised,' when reality doesn't match the paradigm they've assimilated by osmosis."

There was a lot of sage stuff online trying to explain what happened and why to Sarah Palin this week, and although I'll mention some of the best analysis I found, my own belief is that the vicious treatment of her stems as much as anything from the discordant feelings she inspires as she takes media prisoners out of their mental cave and into the bright sun and exposes the puppeteers as fools and knaves.

Paradigm Shift: Our Nation’s Decline and Needed Remedy

"A paradigm shift is only achieved with many caveats. You see, the attitude of the American republic has shifted from self-determination to government reliance, victimization, and entitlements."

Paradigm Shift: Our Nation’s Decline and Needed Remedy

After the G-20 summit in South Korea, I found it appalling the media backlash both President Obama and the United States, as a whole, received. The chances that both the liberal and conservative media agreeing are as a fabled English Premier League commentator said, “few and far between.” .“Another chance has gone begging.” The United States is in decline. This is not a conservative or liberal opinion, this is a fact. Everything from education to the economy, from morals to income is decreasing at an alarming rate. But why? I truly believe America needs a paradigm shift.  Read More

On the Anniversary of Roe v. Wade

On the Anniversary of Roe v. Wade
Unborn Baby Eagles

"Whatever else you do, don’t disturb an eagle egg. We go to great lengths to protect unborn baby eagles while they are vulnerable and in the first few weeks of their embryonic life. In fact, the laws do more than that—they protect unborn eagles from conception to the end of life. That is how much we value eagle life."

“Don’t fail to rescue those who are doomed to die. Don’t say, “I didn’t know it!” God can read your mind. He watches each of us and knows our thoughts. And God will pay us back for what we do.” (Proverbs 24:11-12—Contemporary English Version)

Since 1973 when two women, prompted (some might say, used) by their activist radical women’s rights attorneys, challenged laws prohibiting abortions and won(i), nearly 50 million unborn and nearly born babies have been killed. That is nearly 16% of the current population of the United States. Fifty million babies who had no choice were sacrificed on the Altar of Choice—proving that when activist attorneys with no moral grounding argue cases before activist judges, bad things happen.

Ironically, the two women whose cases—and one might say bodies—were used by lawyers intent on advancing a pro-choice agenda ended up repudiating the very outcome of their cases and became pro-lifers. As a result of these rulings, millions of children died, countless women have suffered, and babies with all the potential of life were left with no legal right to live. Whether they are ripped from the womb is left entirely to the whim of the mother and The Law does not protect them. The culture of death prevails in the United States and the law will not aid the most defenseless among us. Read More

Globalization Destruction: Piven Gleefully ‘Hopes’ and Explains How Countries Like China Can Shut Down USA and Bring Revolutionary Transformation

Basic Globalization Revolution Theory:
Our computers, information technology, energy, even some food is all imported from authoritarian nations whose workers make less than dollars a day . Like the Romans who, at the end of their reign, had three slaves for every citizen, the United States, because of globalization, is completely dependant on slave labor. It would only take organized strikes (shut downs) from a small coalition of nations led for example by China to bring us to our knees.

Visser rides giants in early-morning darkness at ‘Jaws’

Mark Visser Rides JAWS at Night! from Fortrus Sports on Vimeo.

On Mark Visser's website, the professional big-wave surfer lists his goals as doing "things that no one thought were possible."

His accomplishment on early Thursday morning would seem to fit the bill - the 28-year-old Australian rode waves of 30-40 feet at "Jaws" in Peahi in darkness, at about 2 a.m.

"I was silenced. I was humbled," he said. "I thought I'd be pumped up and excited, but it wasn't that. I felt like I could sit in a field and not say a word. And just relief. I woke up each morning and my heart was pounding. Each morning I felt sick in my stomach."

The ride will be part of a documentary called "9 Lives" that is to be released late this year or in early 2012, and is being billed as the first surfing of big waves at Jaws in the dark.  Read More

SOTU turning into Sadie Hawkins dance

January 22, 2011
Rick Moran

I made my unpopular feelings known about the two parties sitting together for the State of the Union speech next week. I see little harm in it and if it hurries along the GOP agenda, so much the better.

But this is pretty ridiculous. If I had known the process of having Dems and Republicans sit together would degenerate into a virtual Sadie Hawkins dance, I might have a few more reservations about it:

Dozens of lawmakers are getting a second dose of high school as they venture across the aisle and ask colleagues to sit with them for President Obama's State of the Union address next week.  Read More

The Taming of the Masses

January 22, 2011
By Jed Gladstein

One of the most dangerous strategies of the totalitarians in our midst is the deliberate confusion they create around the notion of totalitarianism. Only a fraction of "educated" people know that so-called "right-wing" fascists and "left-wing" socialists historically occupy the same end of the sociopolitical spectrum. The reason most people don't know this is because for eighty years, the "left" has engaged in a campaign to disguise the fact that it is fundamentally a totalitarian movement.  Read More

Big Sis Launches DHS Takeover Of Hotels, Malls & Sports Stadiums

Homeland Security prepares to entrench total occupation of America

Paul Joseph Watson
Infowars.com
Thursday, January 20, 2011

The Department of Homeland Security has released a trio of chilling PSA video clips in which ordinary everyday activities are characterized as signs of potential terrorism, with the public being indoctrinated to assume the role of domestic spies reporting on their friends and neighbors as America sinks deeper into a decaying police state.

Following the January 1st implementation of the stasi-style “See Something, Say Something” campaign, in which Americans were urged to report “suspicious activity” by means of Orwellian telescreens placed at Wal-Mart checkouts which played a looped message from Janet Napolitano, the DHS announced that the program was set to be expanded to include 9,000 federal buildings, as well as sports stadiums, businesses and communities in general.

We now know how that expansion will manifest itself – with Americans at every level of society being trained that activities such as using cash, not having a credit card, taking pictures or video footage, asking questions, and wearing certain items of clothing are all suspicious and should be reported, while being coerced into living in constant fear of terror, when in reality they are more likely to die from peanut allergies, lightning strikes, or accident-causing deer than terrorist attacks.  Read More

JPMorgan Is Making Big Profits From Food Stamps

The More Americans That Go On Food Stamps the More Money JP Morgan Makes

Economic Collapse Blog
1/22/2011

JP Morgan is the largest processor of food stamp benefits in the United States. JP Morgan has contracted to provide food stamp debit cards in 26 U.S. states and the District of Columbia. JP Morgan is paid for each case that it handles, so that means that the more Americans that go on food stamps, the more profits JP Morgan makes. Yes, you read that correctly. When the number of Americans on food stamps goes up, JP Morgan makes more money. In the video posted below, JP Morgan executive Christopher Paton admits that this is “a very important business to JP Morgan” and that it is doing very well. Considering the fact that the number of Americans on food stamps has exploded from 26 million in 2007 to 43 million today, one can only imagine how much JP Morgan’s profits in this area have soared. But doesn’t this give JP Morgan an incentive to keep the number of Americans enrolled in the food stamp program as high as possible?

There are just some things that are a little too "creepy" to be "outsourced" to private corporations. The JP Morgan executive in the interview below does his best to put a positive spin on all this, but it just seems really unsavory for a big Wall Street bank to be making so much money off of the suffering of tens of millions of Americans....

So if unemployment goes down will this ruin JP Morgan's food stamp business?  Read More

Department of Transportation officials and the U.S. trade representative’s office are in Mexico this week negotiating final details of a renewed Mexican truck demonstration project with the goal of allowing foreign long-haul loads to roam U.S. roads by summer.

The starting point for negotiations between Mexico and the United States was a “Concept Document” the DOT published on its website called “Phased U.S.-Mexico Cross Border Long Haul Trucking Proposal.”

U.S. government commits avian holocaust with mass poisoning of millions of birds

(NaturalNews) The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is engaged in what can only be called an avian holocaust through its Bye Bye Blackbird program that has poisoned tens of millions of birds over the last decade. The USDA even reports the number of birds it has poisoned to death in a PDF document posted on the USDA website.

Anticipating the USDA possibly removing that document, we have posted a copy on NaturalNews servers at: http://www.naturalnews.com/files/US...

The original source URL of this file was: http://www.aphis.usda.gov/wildlife_...

This document shows that, just in 2009, the following bird populations were poisoned and killed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, using taxpayer dollars:  Read More

Republicans to Cut Everything but Military

Republicans to Cut Everything but Military
Friday, January 21, 2011 – by Staff Report

Moving aggressively to make good on election promises to slash the federal budget, the House GOP today unveiled an eye-popping plan to eliminate $2.5 trillion in spending over the next 10 years. Gone would be Amtrak subsidies, fat checks to the Legal Services Corporation and National Endowment for the Arts, and some $900 million to run President Obama’s healthcare reform program. What’s more, the “Spending Reduction Act of 2011″ proposed by members of the conservative Republican Study Committee, chaired by Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, would reduce current spending for non-defense, non-homeland security and non-veterans programs to 2008 levels, eliminate federal control of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, cut the federal workforce by 15 percent through attrition, and cut some $80 billion by blocking implementation of Obamacare. – US News and World Report

Dominant Social Theme: It is important to defend the realm.

Free-Market Analysis: House Republicans have issued a list of cuts to be made to federal spending. We quote from the article excerpted above: The proposals "would reduce current spending for non-defense, non-homeland security and non-veterans programs to 2008 levels." Homeland Security is apparently exempt from most cuts as is the Pentagon.  Read More
